Video is a highly effective way to engage with people, tell a story and is one of the most effective forms of content marketing. I do a lot of work in the voluntary sector making evaluation films, films for funding applications and profile raising films. I have worked on a variety of projects for different organisations including the NHS, the Department for Work and Pensions and the YMCA. I believ

e in using film to empower marginalised groups and I pride myself on articulating the voices of “real people” in many of the films I make.

Today at filmmaking club, members have been polishing their skills filming different shot angles and filming a sequence. We also edited and added music. Our aim was to make a short film in one session. Here it is....

Monday = Film Making Club!

This week we’re editing footage of two recent interviews: one with Emma Scott from Dorchester Town Council, who wants to make Dorchester one of the most accessible towns for disabled people and Kerry, a club member and wheelchair user.

We’re also thinking about ways of improving the town experience for people with hidden disabilities, making Dorchester a truly inclusive place to live, work or visit!

We love working together to help the wider community and hope this project will help to tell their stories and bring change where needed.

This past weekend we filmed the amazing on Portland.

We were invited to capture the whole event, so were able to experience the unique and exciting atmosphere as well as the art and artists exploring this year’s theme: ‘Who do we think we are?’

It’s always a pleasure for us to talk to people doing what they love, telling their stories and sharing their experiences with communities across Dorset.

Thank you to everyone who said yes to an interview - watch this space for the final film celebrating this vibrant and inspiring community!

Today we received a call thanking us for our support for roads safety information to be sent to schools and that the support we've given has meant that schools will receive road safety booklets. We were asked to nominate which school we wanted it sent to and that we would be thanked and could they have our social media details etc. All based on a conversation we were supposed to have had before. As we were talking I was racing my brains to try and remember the call. Then they checked our address and then mentioned sending the invoice to us for £288. I then thought... I'm pretty sure I don't remember agreeing to pay anything out for road safety booklets. I queried it and then the lady said it was in a phone callee had had in November. The calls are recorded. I asked her to send me the recording... So far, I haven't received the recording and I'm fairly certain this is a scam. Just wanted to put the warning out there and ask if anyone else had received a similar call?

Learn more about us

Welcome to our page! Based in Dorset, we produce video for a diverse range of clients. We work with individuals, businesses, schools and specialise in production work for voluntary and public sector organisations. This work includes evaluation films, films for funding applications, training films and videos that raise the profile of organisations and the projects they run.

We believe in using video and filmmaking to empower marginalised groups and pride ourselves on articulating the voices of “real people” in many of the films we make.

When Pageant Productions first began, we worked in the theatre industry providing technical production support, but it wasn’t long before we started offering video production services as well. In 2011 the video production side of things took over when for the next few years we spent the majority of our time filming and live streaming poker tournaments throughout Europe. We learned a lot about live streaming but we wanted to do more and in 2014 we began working for Access Dorset, a disability rights charity in Bournemouth. This diverse work quickly took over from poker and our work with Access Dorset opened our eyes to the possibilities and opportunities there were to use video as a tool for bringing communities together, engaging with people and giving those on the fringes of society a voice. Our kind, flexible and empathic way of working, combined with a growing knowledge of health and social care systems help us work with the disabled, disenfranchised and vulnerable people. These are skills we have developed and continue to develop as time goes on. In the last few years we have expanded the work we do in the voluntary sector working with a wide range of organisations offering production services, training, service user workshops, closed captioning, BSL interpretation and much more. Although we don’t limit our customer base, voluntary and public sectors have become sectors we specialise in.
