This is the reason why we ask drummers who rehearse at the studios bring their own breakables such as cymbals….
These were lent to a drummer who didn’t have any cymbals for his band’s rehearsal…..
He must have been using hammers as drumsticks 🤯😲

I’m truly saddened to hear of the passing of one of all great music radio DJ’s, Annie Nightingale. a true pioneer and trailblazer of female radio DJs and a champion of new music for as long I can remember.

I met Annie twice
Very briefly at a Buzzcocks gig in the early 90s and then again at a
Great New Order gig at Alexandra palace in London New Year’s Eve 1998
I was stood next to Tom and Ed of The Chemical Brothers who were on my direct left hand side watching new order.

Annie was next to me on my right hand side along with Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream, Mani of The Stone Roses, Kate Moss and Bez Happy Mondays
Bez disappeared half way through the gig only to turn up stage dancing with new order during “fine time” and “blue Monday”

Annie was an ace laugh spoke to her loads all night with the rest of her famous entourage.
She was clearly the leader of the party!!!

It was a Great night from what I remember
