George Holmes Tribute Page

George Holmes Tribute Page George Holmes died on 6th April 2010 and left behind a wealth of stories, music and friends.

This page has been created because of the number of recordings that you have all sent over the last three years and I felt that they should all be together!

We are currently working with a TV company to research a possible documentary on George, his life, friends, music and work. The company is in need of any footage taken of George - if you have any footage either home video or professional that you could donate to this research could you please let me know?

Thanks all, Catriona

We are sad, to announce the passing of Maynard Hanna.

A great friend of George with many stories in his pocket to tell of him, many involving ice cream and places they shouldn't have found themselves, Maynard gave the name to our session of FOG (Friends of George) Day. And he remained a friend of George's to the end and we talked at length of him and their shenanigans at my last hospital visit to him only three weeks ago.

A well known supporter of Everton, Maynard (from Kilkeel, County Down) passed away after recent illness today, 9th March, at the age of just 69.

His stories, laughter and cheeky personality will be missed by many not least his wife Anne and their family. RIP Maynard x

We received the sad news this morning that Pete Mccune passed away on Friday.
Pete had attended all of our FOG days and was always there at the end of the night keeping the last session going.
I remember him best for Leaving Nancy but below is a link to Pete singing another beautiful song Farewell Mayo on stage at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast with Beyond the Pale.
RIP Pete, we will miss the craic. the unfiltered honesty and your beautiful voice!

Farewell Mayo. a song by Eamon Friel performed by Beyond The Pale in concert at the BBC Studio, Waterfront Hall, Belfast.
