🗣FGM - How much do you know?🗣
Dr Victoria Kinkaid introduces us to a project she has been involved with, aiming to provide awareness and education on FGM to medical students and importantly to push and promote the topic of conversation. SWIPE TO LISTEN
853 responses from 27 UK universities showed 97% of medical students felt they needed to know more about FGM, with two thirds reporting having no teaching or exposure at all.
What is YOUR background and how much do YOU feel you know about FGM?
Do you feel like you know enough??

🌎 Digital Heath for Migrant Mothers
🌎 Digital Heath for Migrant Mothers
Dr Jen Bagelman and Josephine Gitome discuss their collaboration on the Migrant Mothers project.
In Kenya’s Dadaab camp, many women choose to give birth with a traditional birth attendant present. These birth attendants learn primarily through practice, rather than by undergoing medical training. Josephine and Jen explain how the use of virtual reality can be used to train midwives to provide the best support to women giving birth, therefore reducing maternal morbidity and mortality rates. 🤰
