🍷🍇🧘‍♀️ WHAT AN EVENT🍷🍇🧘‍♀️

This was a pleasure to create a bespoke event for our client The Academy to host a wonderful group of ladies for their full day retreat.

The client and their guests had specified that they would like a remote and intimate venue in order to enjoy a full day retreat experience which included meals, hot tub use and some lovely wine.

For an inspirational group of ladies who do the most inspiring work, this was an honour.

For event planning, we always ensure to support local businesses where possible and on this occasion we were blown away by all of the vendors and we are very grateful to have had a smooth and successful day with the very best of catering and service.

The recently introduced Travel Solutions sun holidays from the City of Derry Airport have been a tremendous success and with still two weeks to go there are last-minute bargains still to be had!

The Airport’s partnership with award-winning NI tour operator, Travel Solutions, will bring another summer season of connectivity for family holidays, couples breaks, group getaways and flight only offers, which is highly in demand in the North West with the convenience of flying local and great value parking offers.

Flights will commence from 28 June 2023 to 23 August 2023 from City of Derry Airport to Palma, with 20KG baggage allowance and only a £50 per person deposit required (ends 30.9.2022). Full ATOL and CAR protection in place.

Travel Solutions Holidays Take Off from City of Derry Airport
Summer has well and truly arrived in the North West with the take-off of Travel Solutions’ sun holidays to the Algarve and Majorca from City of Derry Airport on Wednesday 29th June. The Airport’s partnership with award-winning NI tour operator, Travel Solutions, marks a new era in welcoming back European connectivity for family holidays, couples breaks and group getaways which has been highly desired in the North West for quite some time.

The summer vibes were flowing as City of Derry Airport welcomed this year’s first Algarve and Majorca passengers with some holiday themed live music, beach-ready hospitality, and special decor and giveaways to mark the wonderful occasion. Mayor of Derry City & Strabane District Council, Cllr Sandra Duffy, and the Travel Solutions team joined the vibrant celebrations.

Peter McMinn, Managing Director at Travel Solutions, stated: “This is an exciting day for Travel Solutions as the first of our European charter flights depart from City of Derry Airport. It is great to see couples and families start their holiday from their local airport and we looked forward to welcoming our customers as they jet off to the sunshine.”

♻️Derry Strabane Recycling App♻️ (AD)

Derry City and Strabane District Council have launched a new, free recycling app with lots of handy features and information on waste and recycling needs.
As an added incentive, users who download the app will be automatically entered into a draw for a tablet or eco goodies to help people reduce their waste and live in a way that's kinder to the planet.
It has been created as part of the EU-funded project, EMERGREEN, which aims to improve technology to help people live more sustainably and will replace the Bin-ovation app which currently exists.

The Construction Employer’s Federation (CEF) for Northern Ireland and City of Derry Airport (CoDA) have joined forces in an exciting new partnership. As the Gateway of the North West, the Airport will be offering convenient and budget-friendly business connectivity for CEF members across Northern Ireland that are regularly commuting to London, Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh, as well as the provision of commercial discount on airport services and facilities.
The CEF is the sole certified representative body for the construction industry in Northern Ireland, representing approximately 70% of construction and around 800 businesses of all sizes that employ over 30,000 staff directly and 65,000 in the wider supply chain. CEF is the Voice of the NI Industry on the UK Construction Leadership Council, BuildUK and the NI Procurement Board.

COTY OF DERRY WELCOME INCREASED RYANAIR FLIGHTS…

Ryanair made a highly anticipated return to the North West in December to operate the new service between City of Derry Airport and Manchester. Following the roaring success over the last few months with consistently high passenger loads, the airline has increased the frequency of the service with a new Monday departure and arrival flight taking off from 2nd May 2022.
Steve Frazer, Managing Director at City of Derry Airport, expressed his delight: “We are thrilled that Ryanair’s service between the North West and Manchester has proved to be such a success, demonstrating the importance of this connection for the local catchment area.”
Mr. Frazer explained: “We can see that the service is frequently used by corporate passengers and students who commute regularly, as well as reuniting many in the North West with their family and friends living in Manchester. In terms of leisure, Manchester has so much to offer for family breaks, couples retreats, and group getaways, particularly hen and stag parties who regularly book out our Amelia Earhart Airport Lounge for private parties before they take off to Manchester!
“Ryanair’s budget-friendly fares for services between City of Derry Airport and Manchester start from just £11.99pp one way and with the increased frequency, flights are now available four days per week – Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. These days are ideal for anyone regularly commuting and weekend breaks. Flights are available to book now.”
Ryanair’s Senior Marketing Executive, Megan Grennan said: “We are delighted to increase our frequency from City of Derry Airport to Manchester for Summer 2022. ‘Bonnie’ Breaks to Edinburgh taking off this Spring from City of Derry Airport!

City of Derry Airport’s long-standing Scottish airline partner, Loganair, will operate regular flights to Edinburgh from 17th May 2022. The new service will bring welcome connectivity for the North West for leisure breaks, visiting family and friends, and a business link with the Scottish capital.

Steve Frazer, Managing Director at City of Derry Airport, explained: “Loganair’s 55 minute direct connection to Edinburgh will initially be available three days per week on a Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, with increased frequency during the peak summer months when additional flights will be available on a Thursday and Saturday.

“As the Gateway of the North West, we continue to monitor the travel needs of our local catchment area across Derry-Londonderry, the Causeway Coast & Glens and Donegal. A direct connection to Edinburgh has been greatly missed in recent months, particularly for those regularly commuting to study or work, or visit family and friends, and we are delighted that Loganair will be taking to the skies to provide this much-needed service.”

Mr. Frazer added: “Edinburgh is an amazing destination and has something to offer for everyone on a leisure break – history and culture, family fun, unique food and drink experiences, nightlife – the options are endless! And of course, Edinburgh is a key UK business hub providing essential corporate connectivity for the North West region.”

Kay Ryan, Loganair’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “As the UK’s largest regional airline we are committed to connecting people both for leisure and business purposes through partnerships with key airports. We look forward to launching this convenient new direct service and welcoming passengers on board.”
Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Alderman Graham Warke added: “The launch of regular flights between City of Derry Airport and Edinburgh is fantastic news for our City and District, and the wider North-West. It further improves connectivity and provides a service for people travelling for business or pleasure, or perhaps to visit family or friends. Edinburgh is a beautiful city steeped in history, with so much to offer and to interest visitors. It is brilliant that we will have now have a direct link for people in the North West to avail of.”
The all-inclusive fares start from £53.99pp one way with 15kg checked-in luggage and in-flight refreshments included as standard with Loganair.

There are additional perks to avail of when travelling with Loganair; families can enjoy 33% discount on Loganair fares for children aged 2-11 (under two’s fly for free), and those planning a group getaway can benefit from flexible fares on booking/itinerary changes and payment.

Corporate travellers can sign up to ‘Clan Loganair’, the airline’s rewards programme for regular passengers where you can build up points and redeem towards a free flight of choice. Those travelling for business can also make use of ‘FlyFlex’, where you can jump on an earlier flight available on the same date planned (provided seats are available) and ‘FlexProtect’ where refunds are guaranteed without change fees should government travel requirements change.
