The Yuletide Frolic
DJ Sh*tmat + Haress + Goddesses

Sh*tmat is an English breakcore artist and mashup producer, one of several monikers used by Henry Collins. Sh*tmat became known in the early 2000s for releases on the Adnoiseam and Planet MU labels. He also set up his own label, Wrong Music and put on parties in Brighton. His 2012 project Mash Hits remixed every UK number one single from 1952 onwards.

Haress consists of the core guitar duo of David Hand and Elizabeth Still, based in Bishops Castle in the Shropshire Hills.

They intertwine dark and repetitive electric guitar figures to create a hypnotic, mantra-like state, the playing working on a kind of unspoken telepathy until it’s impossible for the onlooker to work out which player is responsible for which sound amid the warm, enveloping hum of valve amps.

For their debut LP release, Haress have expanded this duo to include additional drums from David Smyth (Kling Klang, Mind Mountain), guitar and Echoplex from Chris Summerlin (Kogumaza, Grey Hairs, Hey Colossus), vocals from Thomas House

Goddesses are on a new journey exploring immersive dub and psych with their recently expanded line up featuring Jay Dean from Dubrek Studios on guitar and vocals, Jonathon Hill on saxophone, Caroline Frewin on bass and Greg Rawson on drums and percussion.

Misery Bacon is the experimental sound and noise music project of Luke Drozd, an artist, illustrator, and musician based in Bergen, Norway. The project creates audio collages, experimental soundscapes, and harsh noise music, often released on limited-edition cassette tapes and digital formats.

Andy Abbott is an artist, musician and writer who lives in West Yorkshire, UK. 
His recent output as ‘Andrew DR Abbott’ centres on instrumental compositions for 8-string baritone acoustic guitar. ‘ADRA’ is the name under which he releases improvised or more experimental work.

Nick Jonah Davis is a guitarist, composer and audio engineer based in Derbyshire.

Drawing inspiration from folk traditions, as well as drone, ambience, free improvisation and psychedelia, Nick’s music is usually rooted in emotionally resonant solo instrumental performance on guitar or lap steel.

Recording today at Dubrek. Pulled out the vintage Yamaha kit - massive sizes for massive sounds. 1973 Marshall Superlead on guitar duties and a Hartke bass rig via Electroharmonix Big M**f. Expect 70’s tinged psych rock from these guys. Sounding BIG!
