"Over the years we have ran various fund-raising campaigns to fund giving the homeless and the vulnerable a decent Christmas meal along with Christmas treats.

"This year we did it a little differently, we asked everyone to donate £5 to give a homeless person a meal, The support and reaction to this was phenomenal. From individuals to large companies, we have found the generosity to be very humbling."

We're giving a PiGs shout out to Kirsty Fortnam of Glass Express Midlands Ltd, who recently celebrated six years of volunteering with Birmingham-based Outreach Angels.

"Climbing Kilimanjaro was a true bucket list challenge and incredible to get so much support from the industry from both climbers and businesses donating so generously. I can’t say thank you enough to everyone involved.

“I am looking forward to joining the CAB team in January and feel there is a great deal more we can do to support the facade supply chain across the UK & Ireland.

“I also recognise the plight of the Industry where we have a widening skills gap and the average age of experienced individuals is increasing rapidly with not enough new talent entering the Industry.

"CAB have already started to work on the skills gap by attending higher education open days and by initiating the ‘CAB Training Academy’, but there is more work to do.

"We need to make a career in the Industry attractive to school and college leavers as well as experience people in similar trades that wish to bring their experience into our Industry."

With the return to membership growth of the Association in 2024, the Council for Aluminium in Building (CAB) is enhancing its technical support by appointing an industry experienced Technical Director in Dale Pegler.

“We were absolutely delighted with the support we received from our stakeholders for the FIT Show 2025 enhancement day last week. We’ve brought the event forward in the calendar as we wanted to arm our exhibitors with the tools and information they need to run the best possible campaigns for their FIT Show 2025 participation, as well as drive the best possible ROI for them.

“We also broadened the event out to invite prospects who have expressed an interest in exhibiting at FIT Show 2025, but who have not yet signed, in order to show them the plethora of support and opportunities that are available to exhibitors. A couple of these attendees have since gone on to sign up to exhibit, with a further two brands increasing their stand size.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to all of our speakers and contributors who delivered a first class agenda for our attendees, and to all of our stakeholders who took the time to support the event. Next stop, FIT Show 2025!”
