It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Haji Muhammad Zareef Chishti Sahib (RA), a man who embodied the spirit of service, knowledge, and humility
Haji Muhammad Zareef Sahib (RA), a beloved teacher, mentor, and a guiding light to all who knew him. His passing marks the end of an era of wisdom, dedication, and service to the community.
Haji Zareef Sahib (RA) was much more than a teacher; he was an embodiment of humility, kindness, and devotion. His Fiqh lessons at Dairyhouse Road Masjid were not just classesโthey were a source of enlightenment for everyone who attended. For years, he generously offered his time and knowledge, three days a week, without ever asking for anything in return. His sincerity and commitment to teaching were a rare gift to our community.
Beyond the classroom, Haji Sahib's contributions to Radio Ikhlas, especially during Ramadan, were invaluable. His voice reached countless homes during the Iftar and Sehri programs, offering comfort and guidance at such spiritually significant times. His efforts benefited the entire Muslim community, and his wisdom was always shared with a smile, with no hesitation to help anyone eager to learn.
I will always cherish a personal moment when I gifted him a book by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. He accepted it with grace, saying, "I wish our scholars and teachers could put aside personal differences and benefit from such works for the betterment of the Deen." His words reflected the purity of his heart and his desire for unity among the Ummah.
Haji Muhammad Zareef Sahib's (RA) passing is a deep loss for us all, particularly for the community of Derby, which he served tirelessly for decades. His knowledge, kindness, and selflessness will forever remain a part of our lives, even though he is no longer with us.
May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, grant him the highest ranks in Jannah, and provide strength and patience to his family and all those who mourn his loss. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who had the honor to learn from him. Ameen.
