This is Auroras kitten he’s such a little dot, he’s definitely giving me grey hair. Come on pocket rocket your momma, foster family and your new family are all worried sick we need you back home.

Just when we thought Auroras kittens were on the home stretch little Rocket (Hubert) is a teeny tiny dot went from being a playful kitten to huddled in a corner crying in a matter of hours. We rushed him to the vets and his body temperature was very low so they admitted him overnight on fluids and to warm him they also wanted to do a full blood panel but Rocket had other ideas which is a brilliant sign so a little sedation was needed.
The bloods have come back and shown he has an infection and as he’s so tiny he’s struggling to fight it so needs to stay in the vets on iv anti biotics and fluids.
Please give this post a ❤️ and show Rocket that he has a whole CAFO family behind him.

The gorgeous Aurora’s kittens are growing up so fast and they all have attitude now they are so funny they think they can take on the world. Aurora is a real good Mummy and she’s putting on weight now the kittens aren’t needing her as much.

This is the most progress I have made with Mochi, in the last 3 weeks I haven’t once been able to touch him so to actually be allowed to have a little stroke felt so special. Smudge also when in the group spent the whole time hiding so to see his true colours is lovely he’s very much wanting to be loved and enjoys a cuddle given time I think he will be a totally different cat. Splitting up a family group was a hard choice and is still sad for me but that’s a part of rescue/foster sometimes choices have to be made and aslong as those choices are made out of love for them that’s all we can do.

So alots happened for Smudge and Mochi. I decided to bring Smudge home to my spare room to try and get him ready for a forever home and on the way home we decided swing by and have his vaccination and fiv/felv test which was negative 🎉🎉 poor smudge really didn’t cope being on his own and was crying all night so off I set to go get Mochi for him now this was no easy feat after a few climbs up the walls/windows and hanging off the rafters I managed to secure the little tyke the feeling of achievement was amazing and not a scratch to show I think I’m getting a pro at not letting them ball round my arm 🤣 pride comes before a fall. So they are just settling in and getting used to the room they are in an xxl dog crate just so I can actually stroke them then they will have free roam of the spare room and catio outside but I find it really helps them to realise I won’t hurt them in a smaller area just for a few days.

So every day I do a little crate training I get it down off the shelf and just leave it open I throw treats in it and sometimes I shut the lid for a few seconds sometimes I just let them play and sometimes I just do nothing with it.

Auroras glow up.

Last two of the bunch, smudge and Mochi they are always together but so is the group as a whole I definitely think this is a family unit.
These cats are typical hoarders cats they are very afraid of human contact but aren’t afraid of you as a human that provides food and exsist in the same space as them but they absolutely do not understand the concept of being touched. Unlike a cat that was once owned and then went stray/feral these cats have no memories to fall back on about humans and humans touch as they have unfortunately haven’t had that socialisation. It’s going to take a while bring these out their shell.

The only ladies of the group Mittens and Sox, these cats are lovely you can feed them they don’t hiss spit or scratch but you absolutely can’t touch them they are so fearful they have never had that kind of human contact. The sad thing is Sox is still very young she’s still kitten like she supposed to be 9 months but much more baby than my cats but she is so so wary and will run if she feels your eyes looking at her for her too long. They are very bonded I’m wondering if Mittens is Sox mum.

Today is Kiki’s turn an adult make that was neutered prior to coming into us so was ear notched. Hes the only other cat that I can get near in the group but I still can’t touch him but he will rub up my legs at food time and as I put the bowl down I can run my hand down his back briefly. No chance of picking him up or actually stroking him yet.

Meet Tai.
Tai is part of the black n whites group and hes a big massive lovable rogue. He’s the friendliest of the bunch and very food oriented so you can win him round quiet quickly.
He is yet to be vaccinated and chipped but is neutered and will be looking for a indoor only home as that’s all he’s ever known.
Remember he is from a large multi cat household so will need time and patience to settle into normal family life and while he’s social within his own colony it doesn’t automatically mean he will be cat friendly.
As always he will be available via CAFO and they will advertise him once he’s ready but you can always express your interest prior.

We are very fortunate to have our own little slice of paradise and as fosters and pet owners ourselves I thought I would share our little rainbow meadow for all the pets/fosters we have loved and lost, we hope to have wildflowers in summer and I often come and sit and have a brew here as it’s so peaceful.

So my last group of fosters to introduce is the black and whites as they are affectionately known as.
we offered to help a group of 6 cats from a lady who had been overwhelmed and had sadly ended up in hospital she had 17 cats and other rescues had taken and these 6 remained they had always lived in a house, so Easter Monday off we went thinking whack them in the crates and off we go, 🤣🤣 it quickly became apparent these cats lived in a massive farmhouse and had hiding places everywhere luckily the son and Paul were very good at catching cats running on pure fear they were covered in scratches bites and p*e this was not the easy turn around we were expecting but we got them all.
The reality suddenly set in what on earth were we supposed to do with 6 unhandled large well fed cats, and that was my idea behind this page to share their journey to becoming perfect pets.
Here’s how the first week has gone in pictures I hope next update I will of at least seen a cat 🤣

Meet Milo.
Milo is leaving for his new home on Monday, this is going be super hard as Milo will definitely Be the cat that got away he’s the biggest Bestest cuddle bum you could ever wish for he really is the best cat and I’m going to truly miss him but his new family really are perfect for him and can offer him the home I never could as he needs a pet free home 🤣 with me that’s never going to happen and I can’t keep them all so to let him go to his forever home is the right thing to do. Love you big time Miley moo.

These are Auroras beautiful kittens.

They are so cheeky Hubert the black and white you know when you say there’s always one that’s him he thinks he’s a lion and can take on the world these kittens might have had a tough beginning but they think there the bee knees and are so full of sass.

Meet Aurora now, she’s a happy confident loving sassy little madam, that often brings you a kitten and plops it in your lap as if to say adorbs isn’t it?
She really is the most loving and proud momma.

She’s such a cuddle bum excuse my clothes and messy hair but I think this just sums up beautiful Aurora she gives the best cuddles she really leans in and hugs you back.

Today I’m introducing Aurora and as she’s been with me longer than the page so I thought I would do a quick before then I will post her now.
I collected Aurora when her kittens were 2 days old she was so skinny matted dirty and stinky but mostly she was terrified she was trying to protect her kittens and in her eyes she didn’t know we were there to help it was so heart breaking, Aurora gave her everything to the kittens even though really she didn’t have much left herself and this took it’s toll on Aurora we had to rush her to the vets as her calcium levels had dropped and she had a raging temperature she was given anti biotics the vets weren’t hopeful but this little girl is a fighter.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my page this is a page to share the wonderful cats that I get the privilege of fostering for CAFO and the journey along the way as it isn’t all sunshine and rainbows but it’s definitely filled with a lot of love.
