Nepalese painting to help raise money for earthquake disaster fund

A NEPALESE artist has produced a limited edition range of prints to help raise funds for Salisbury-based charity the Gurkha Welfare Trust (GWT).

NB Gurung's painting is titled Bhaktapur Sky and is a watercolour interpretation of Bhaktapur Durbar Square, executed by the artist shortly after the earthquakes that hit Nepal earlier this year.
He said: "The painting, executed in a semi-realistic way, was an impression after two massive earthquakes were felt upon the historic Bhaktapur Durbar Square. The earthquake destroyed millions of properties, killed thousands of people along with vast amounts of historic heritage. It made me feel bitter at losing my own incredible guardian making me an orphan! The dominant entity of clouds across the painting is a cry for its lost glory."


The limited series consists of 250 Giclée prints, each priced at £150 with 10 per cent of every print sold going to the GWT.

Trailwalker 2015

Despite appalling weather on Sunday over 400 teams, totalling nearly 1,700 participants, took on Trailwalker 2015 – attempting to cover 100km across the South Downs in under 30 hours.
