Event Planning 101: Beware the Silent Party Killer
Some venues have sound limiters—a fancy way of saying "we're not really built for loud music." These sneaky little devices are set so low that even an overenthusiastic cheer can trip them, cutting power to the stage and potentially frying expensive equipment. Musicians and DJs hate them. And guess what? Venues don’t always mention them upfront—because if they did, you’d probably book elsewhere.
So, do yourself a favour: before signing anything, ask "Do you have sound limiters?" If the answer is yes, you have two options—find another venue or scrap the live act and stick an iPad on some speakers.
Because nothing kills the vibe faster than a forced power outage.
