With the rise in popularity of podcasts over the past few years, it's safe to say it's had quite the impact!

The obvious comparison for podcasts is radio, and while they both provide a level of entertainment and education, we can't help but feel that podcasts are slightly taking over!

Podcasts have become the perfect escapism into worlds you may not have known even existed; from self-development, right through to your favourite celebrity, there really is something for everyone, and it is so much easier to access!

Our personal opinion is that there will always be a place for radio, Radio tells us what’s happening and where as soon as it’s happening. Stuck in traffic? Switch on the radio. Want to know the news? Switch on the radio. Radio is still the perfect medium for the modern world because it’s instant and current!

A podcast trailer is the perfect way to entice a whole new audience to your show!

Here are five tips to help you create a great podcast trailer:

1️⃣ - Include names! That’s the show name and the hosts!

2️⃣ - Include a brief description of what people can expect from listening!

3️⃣ - Include a call to action! Where can people find your podcast? Remind them to hit the follow button to ensure they never miss an episode!

4️⃣ - Make it sound great!

5️⃣ - Make sure you use a decent microphone and music that compliments you and your show's tone!
Keep it short and sweet! We recommend no longer than 90 seconds!

With a little bit of help from her chef extraordinaire and the absolute legend that is her mum Lennie, each week guests from the worlds of music, culture and politics drop by for a bite and a bit of a natter. Oversharing guaranteed!

When it comes to creating your intro, you really want to hook your listeners immediately! 🪝

Here are a few things to think about when creating yours:

The Hook - If you have an interview style podcast, start your show by introducing your guest or playing an enticing clip from later in the interview! This can work with other styles too by teasing the story and leaving it on a cliffhanger!

The Music - We all remember a jingle! Your music track should set up your podcast's mood and keep the same tone as the rest of your show. Don't be afraid to switch this up to match the theme of your episode!

The Introduction to the host - Don't be afraid to introduce yourself! There's a strong chance people are listening to your podcast because of you!

Shagged, Married and Annoyed by Chris Ramsey and his incredible wife Rose is one of the best podcasts in our opinion, it's no surprise it's now selling out arenas!

Highly recommend The Chris and Rosie Ramsey Show 2022 on BBC iPlayer too!
