The Telomeres are a North Wales based trio consisting of Emma Withers (vocals, keys), Neil Dickson (vocals, guitar, banjo) and Henry Griffiths (bass). They have been playing together for around a year focusing on writing and performing original music that has a folk-pop vibe but blends a wide range of genres and influences. For the 'Down the Mic' session Emma and Neil re-arranged four of their songs with just guitar and vocals to give a stripped back acoustic performance. Here's song #2 - Trespass.
Trespass was inspired by a local walk and coming across an old footpath that had been closed and fenced off. It highlights the issue of old rights of way that have been lost over time and questions private landowners' right to prevent passage through their land.

Born in Mozambique and raised in the Azores near an American air base, the access to American TV and radio stations music was always a big part of early life for Rui.
Several local singers and guitar players provided inspiration and influenced his writing style.
A Self taught, (mostly by watching and trying to figure out how songs were played) musician, here we have the first song from his Down the Mic Session - Stop.
As a restaurant owner and chef, Rui regularly plays guitar for his guests at Old Wives' Tales in Bala, North Wales.
Quirky covers and a few originals in the mix.

Jude Edwin-Scott is a singer-songwriter and guitarist based in the North-West. He has a gentle, laid-back style based around his distinctive voice and intricate English finger-style guitar playing.

'Jude's songs and articulate lyrics are intelligent, passionate and reflect his love of nature. His acoustic guitar work shows his strong affinity for the music of the great Nic Jones'.
(Chester Folk Festival)

'My own walks in the Cheshire countryside and the writings of Robert Macfarlane inspired the song 'Rambling Rose'. This song is dedicated to the adventurous spirit in all of us. It is also the title track of my new album, which comes out on the 30th June, featuring 10 original songs'.

Proud to have mixed and mastered this track. Released tomorrow 🚀

Bear Cub Eyes

Only heard by Emma two days before the session, Bear Cub Eyes is a brand new song dedicated to Neil's daughter Robyn. Fuelled by sleep deprivation and written in a dreamy state of mind it emanated from Neil's first few weeks as a new father.

Some more radio play for Remember To Buy Yourself Flowers. Proud to have mixed and mastered this song.
Mixing a live recording is very different to mixing a studio track, having to deal with mic bleed was a step learning curve but the end result for the whole live session is brilliant. Couldn't be happier.
