We say goodbye to an absolutely wonderful woman. Our friend, Jennifer Jones-Saboor has sadly passed away. Of the many talents and things you could say about Jen at this time I think how kind she was stands out. She truly cared about people.

In a world where we could do with more people want to help, who want to be there, and often and without fail are there, well it definitely feels like a sadder place to be without Jen in it.

At a time of year when we are all reminded to be a little nicer and kinder to each other, and, maybe, for brief moments we are who we always hoped we would be. I can say without reservation that this was Jen all year.

You will be missed.

21 Ministry of Defence Silver ERS Award winners in Wales

We’re delighted to announce that an amazing 21 organisations in Wales have achieved the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award for 2022.


This follows hot on the heels of our recent announcement of 12 Gold ERS awards across Wales.

The prestigious Defence Silver ERS Award recognises employers who have actively demonstrated their support for the Armed Forces community through implementing practical policies in the workplace.

The 21 winners will be invited to receive their award at a special event in Cardiff in September.

Under the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, employers support Defence personnel and encourage others to do the same. The scheme has three levels, Bronze, Silver and Gold for organisations that pledge, demonstrate and advocate support for Defence and the Armed Forces community.

To achieve Silver, organisations must proactively demonstrate that the Armed Forces community are not unfairly disadvantaged as part of their recruitment policies. They must also actively ensure their workforce is aware of their positive policies towards Defence people issues for Reservists, Veterans, Cadet Force Adult Volunteers, and spouses and partners of those serving in the Armed Forces.

Mr Tony Fish, the MOD’s Regional Employer Engagement Director for North Wales said, “I am delighted that we can announce 21 Silver ERS 2022 award winners for Wales. Despite the pressures of the last few years, these companies have taken the time to ensure our Armed Forces community is supported.”
