Ok people, after a brief stay in hospital last week The Old One and The Tea Boy are back like a bad smell (some more than others - TheTea Boy). Listen to our artist of the week who will be Paul Weller (1, as front man of The Jam. 2, as singer with The Style Council and 3, as a solo artist), our weekly dig through the Soul Vaults (Gets bigger every week, much to Mum's chagrin - The Tea Boy). In the 2nd hour we'll go back to our guess the year feature (not too far this week, The Old Fool was an adult - The Tea Boy) and in the 3rd hour it's the battle of the sexes (boys still in the lead, that could all change). We can't thank the organisers of Biggar Little Festival and the staff of the Gillespie Centre enough. We had a great time, covering such an important festival that is mostly overlooked or ignored by other media. It was also an opportunity to try out our pop-up studio concept for covering a major event, which followed on from our trial of a pop-up studio serving a remote community. We are about to provide an additional pop-up studio in the Murdostoun area (Newmains/Cleland/East Wishaw) to serve that area all year round.

Major development at Shire Radio. We have just signed a contract for TWO MORE ROOMS in our existing premises. This is to allow for the launch of our second channel, Shire Extra, which is coming soon and will be occupying the room that Shire Radio comes from just now. That's on top of our forthcoming pop-up studio in the Newmains/Cleland and East Wishaw area, plus the existing pop+up studio in South Lanarkshire (with hopefully more to come), PLUS the presenters own studios around Lanarkshire.

We are pleased to announce that our next Pop-Up Studio is coming to you soon, where people of your area can access the studio and be presenters, DJ's or even just pop in to promote their local group or organisation, as well as local musicians and other creatives. You won't have to come all the way to our main studio in Coatbridge - because you will have your own dedicated studio. Keep watching this page for more information.
