Thanks to all who have enquired about Flosh Meadows at Cleator Selbuild site www.floshmeadowsselfbuild.com/ and visited us today. We particularly say thanks to Jo who with her partner Michael is one of our original possible plot buyers who described us as “a sweet smelling place in wonderful green setting”. We added 'overlooked by Dent Fell and close to Wainrights walks and much more.

We have recently appointed a young local knowledgeable man to assist us. Flosh Meadows selfbuild development is eventually about to take off.

Even though it was not originally discussed we have determined to pay a big amount of money for local children’s education and we are building our roads and sewers etc to a highly adoptable standard, which doesn’t always happen.

We realise that some persons will still object to Flosh Meadows development and although we disagree with them we are always willing to meet and discuss our family homes selfbuild regeneration plans at Cleator Village.

Homes England, who are the United Kingdom's Government's housing delivery organisation, have described Flosh Meadows, as the premier, self, and custom build site, in northwest England.

We show our road layout, with different designs of houses, but you will design your own home, you are not restricted to the ones we have shown.

We have however, provided a build and design code, to avoid any inappropriate building being considered.

Your home will be in a large enough plot for your privacy, but with security advice on the layout, you will be able to see visitors to your area. We have even put in place road speed cushions to slow down inconsiderate fast drivers.

Dent Fell, can clearly be seen from Flosh Meadows, Dent is in the first section, of the internationally famous Wainwright Coast to Coast Walk, from Saint Bees, to the famous Ennerdale valley.

Coast to Coast walkers, will use the almost forgotten Roman Road. which is also runs through Flosh Meadows, they will have walked past the 11th century church of Saint Lennard's. whose foundations predate the world famous magna carta.

Flosh Meadows Self and custom build family home development, is alongside saint Mary's church, which was built in the year of eighteen sixty two, and within its extensive grounds is a replica of the famous lewards grotto.

This church was designed by the eldest son of A W Pugin, who designed the British Houses of Parliament. Accordingly, if you build your new home at Flosh Meadows, you will be living next door to a Pugin designed masterpiece, and many other special and interesting locations.

Also close to Flosh Meadows self and custom build development, is the River E-hen, which supports the largest English population of Freshwater Pearl Mussels, which are frequently called, "Black Diamonds".

This river is a Special Area of Conservation. and there are more of these areas, close to where your new home could be. There are also some sites of special, scientific interest.

The World Heritage site, of the English Lake District. Where Wordsworth, Keat's and many other famous persons, have made history. is close to Flosh Meadows.

A wealth of advise is available online for calculating your self build costs and correctly they all say "each build is different" and Flosh Meadows management have an article which rather harshly has the title "Self Build is not for wimps". Most sensible calculators show a wide range of costs from £700 to £1500 per square metre where the costs are fully dependant on how much work you personally intend to do. [ 844 more words ]
