Special episode! In our final episode of the season, we shine a light on some of those amazing people 'behind the scenes' and how they prepare for their job.

Coral Messam is an Actor, Movement Director/Practitioner and Wellness Instructor with over 24 years of experience in performance and movement practice. Included in her movement work is intimacy consultancy direction in TV and film.

Jamie Matthewman is a voice, dialect and acting coach working in film, TV, Theatre, Education and the corporate world. He trained as an actor, and subsequently as a voice and dialect coach, at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Stephanie Carey has been a Professional Stuntwoman on the British Stunt Register for over 20 years working in film and television. She specialises in combat and is one of a handful of active competitive female precision drivers in the UK.

David was delighted that they all agreed to share with him the unique way they contribute to the actors process of building a character earlier this year.

NEW EPISODE: Multi-award winning actor Jonathan Pryce has been working in theatre, film and television for more than five decades. His work in theatre includes an award winning Hamlet at the Royal Court and as 'The Engineer' in Miss Saigon in London and New York. He's appeared in films as eclectic as Evita, Tomorrow Never Dies and The Age Of Innocence. In 2019 he earned his first Academy Award nomination for his portrayal of Pope Francis in the film The Two Popes.

His breakthrough screen performance was in Terry Gilliam's satirical, dystopian, black comedy 'Brazil.' He spoke to us about that experience earlier this year.

Scottish actor Brian Cox is a veteran of the London stage, having won two Olivier Awards for Best Actor for his performances in Titus Andronicus for the Royal Shakespeare Company and Rat In The Skull for the Royal Court, and two more Olivier Award nominations for Misalliance and Fashion. His New York theatre credits include ST. NICHOLAS, which earned him the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Actor as well as Drama Desk and Outer Critic's Circle nominations.
He also has a distinguished career in Film includes roles in Rushmore, The Bourne Identity, and Zodiac as well as being the first actor to portray Hannibal Lecter in Manhunter.

Her career has seen her appear in 'The Rook', 'The Cleaner' and 'Years and Years' by Russell T Davies on TV and on stage at the Old Vic and the Donmar Warehouse.

In 2019, Ruth signed an open letter urging Hollywood executives to normalise disability by casting disabled actors to play disabled characters.

NEW EPISODE! London born Adeel Akhtar has made several stage appearances, including as Guildenstern in the Young Vic's 2011 production of Hamlet - but is perhaps best known for his television and film performances.

He was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Supporting Actor for his role on Channel 4's Utopia, before becoming the first non-white actor to win a BAFTA award in a leading role for the single drama Murdered By My Father.

Following our interview he also received a British Academy Film Award nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role for Ali & Ava.

In 2010 he appeared in the Chris Morris film Four Lions and David was delighted to catch up with him to talk about it at the beginning of this year.

Actor David Warner has been widely regarded on stage (for the RSC) as the Hamlet of his generation. His wide ranging film career has seen him work with Sidney Lumet, Sam Peckinpah, Gregory Peck, George C. Scott and Jason Robards in projects as diverse as Tom Jones, Straw Dogs and the Star Trek films. David caught up with him during lockdown to talk about playing Keith Jennings in the 1976 horror film The Omen.

During a glittering stage career that began in January 1962, David has played Hamlet and Falstaff for the RSC and the title role in King Lear at the Chichester Festival Theatre. He also played Undershaft in the Broadway Revival of Major Barbara (George Bernard Shaw) in 2001.

His wide ranging film career has seen him work with Sidney Lumet, Sam Peckinpah, Gregory Peck, George C. Scott and Jason Robards in projects as diverse as Tom Jones, Straw Dogs and the Star Trek films.

Equally at home on stage as he is on screen, award winning actor Adrian Lester has played lead roles in Hamlet, Othello, Henry V, Company and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

He’s perhaps best known on TV in the UK for his role as Michael ‘Mickey Bricks’ Stone in the BBC series Hustle. On American TV, Adrian appeared on the sitcom Girlfriends, as Ellis Carter, a film star who dated Tracee Ellis Ross's character, Joan Clayton.

But David was keen to talk to him about his critically acclaimed portrayal of Rosalind in Cheek by Jowl's all-male production of As You Like It in 1991 and was really excited when he got the opportunity to do that earlier this year.
