My Journey, part 1.

When I started learning to play guitar I found out very quickly that I enjoyed working on and setting up my guitar as much as playing it. I thought that if the guitar was put together as best as it could be it would be more rewarding to play, I was right. I longed for that custom shop, hand made, or vintage very expensive beautiful guitar from the 50’s like everyone else. What I found by working on my own guitar's is that with a little effort, and a few often not so expensive changes you can turn most guitars into a much nicer to play instrument.

My hope is I can help others play guitar, by helping them want to play the guitar they have. My love is of the Blues, and the bands that the Blues inspired like Led Zeppelin, John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, ZZ Top, The Allman Brothers, Jimi Hendrix etc etc I could go on all day. All of the guitar sounds you hear on those amazing recordings are by mostly new ish guitars at the time of the recordings, with in 10 years old anyway. It’s only now we look back with wonder at the sounds of those guitars from the 50’s and 60’s. They were incredible, and played with such passion. Today we have the benefit of time, in the sense that guitars now are affordable, and obtainable. Hank Marvin had the first Fender Stratocaster in the UK, everyone else couldn’t order one off the internet like today and listen on YouTube the moment he plugged it in. If by restringing one guitar, that guitar ends up being played instead of not, I’ll be very happy.
