With regret, we have unfortunately had to take the decision to cancel the first two upcoming Take The Stage shows this Friday (10th January) and the following heat on Friday 24th January.

In the past few years it has been increasingly hard to secure the funding needed to run the competition. Last year we ran the shows at a considerable loss and we had hoped to secure funding for this year’s Take The Stage. Unfortunately we have been unable to raise the money and another year of self-funding these shows would potentially put us of business for good.

This problem is not just unique to us - music services across the country are under increasing strain and have been for many years, and we want to ensure that we can keep running and keep giving young people access to opportunities in the local music scene despite the continuous challenges we’re all facing.

As such, we have decided to run a reduced version of Take The Stage this year with two heats instead of four, plus the final. This means the heats on the 14th Feb and 14th March will still go ahead as planned, with two acts from each of these heats going through into the final.

Whilst this news is not ideal, we’ve got loads of exciting plans lined up for this year and we’re still going to make sure that Take The Stage 2025 is a blast 🤘

Whether you’re in a band or you’re a solo artist or something else entirely, we want to hear from you! Applications are coming in fast but we still have spaces available including one slot on the first heat on the 10th January 👀

Take The Stage battle of the bands returns to the Neeld Community & Arts Centre for 2025 🤘 if you’re a musician aged 21 or under and want to play then get you can apply now via the link below - bands and solo artists alike! Prizes to be won including festival slots and more.
