Earlier this year I got the privilege of listening to the training/support talk by the brilliant Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity at the Elliott Group construction site in Great Boughton Chester while photographing the event.

Two great guys (one of whom runs MYHP - The Mental Health Podcast came on-site and gave a superb presentation to all the contractors, staff (and even myself) on the impact of mental health and family life events upon work, home life and health.

It's amazing how life events can impact anyone at any time.

This week Elliott Group announced they have become an official company supporter of this superb Lighthouse Construction Industry charity so I thought it was a good reason to share a few of the photographs I captured on site.

You can see them here in full flow reminding us it's not weak to get help - it may even save your life

- ESPECIALLY if you've hidden how bad things have got and nobody else is aware!

While things are good it's so easy to think it will never be me, but I can testify how much life can change.

Simply getting out of bed and eating becomes a challenge when life gets the better of you.

Perhaps you have had a huge capacity and carried many many responsibilities and juggled a lot successfully your entire life, but then that one additional pressure (that proverbial straw) causes rock bottom to fly fast at your face!

This doesn't mean you are useless. There is strength in vulnerability.

So wishing you all a great week. And if you need it speak to someone... Get help, there will be charities and support services out there for you too even if you can't utilise this fabulous charity for anyone in the construction industry!

A reminder about getting a geographically local business (whether you have services or not) seen, found and benefiting for YEARS to come for your small amount of efforts.

One of the factors affecting an online business's health and visibility is backlinks from reputable, trusted and long-standing sources.

Also, amazingly the photo/business re-marketing newspaper story (link in the article) is live on the web over 3 years later, due to press release information which was re-used after three years - this equates to 6 years of backlinks, brand authority and the image still appearing on google image search, so this strategy truly stands the test of time!

Hello, Elizabeth here for LPB LBP Commercial photography.

I thought it about time to reintroduce myself as it has been a while.

I live in Chester but love to travel and on a day off you will often find me chatting with friends over coffee somewhere in UK or up a hill, on a rock face, in the sea or on the water.

I love an adventure and exploring new places and meeting new people (within reason as I am a little bit of an introvert!)

I'm also super creative, and obsessed by light and colour and seeing the beauty in every environment place and person.

That is probably why I developed a love for photography - it let's me capture the beauty and meet people while meaning I can focus on the photos when I need some alone time reacharging for the next conversation.

I have two guineapigs who make me laugh most days with there interesting antics love of food!

They say pets are like there owners and I certainly love food, chatting and sometimes do funny things making people smile!

I have a love of learning and going deep into subjects of value! I have a diverse wealth of information and facts from fields from education to science, food to management, psychology to art, and business to faith.

Not only am I photographer but as an educator and coach by training and nature I love helping people solve problems.

I love nothing more than the challenge of helping people increase there visual presence, simplifying the mystery of tech, showcasing the many facets of businesses and personalities in a selection of images, and pulling out your brands gold to tell your client journey stories.

So no photoshoot is ever dull! My best compliment yet was "that was soo much better than I expected, it felt like a fun day out"

So that's what I love to do in life - combine work which gets a return on investment with adventures, fun and learning!

Showing some headshot love having realised to serve you all in the best way I know how, I have to show you the vision! Paint the picture. Draw the dream.

I love capturing unique personalities and environments, especially when there is a branding element (specific colours, feel, style, emotions and even scents and sense of touch to convey in the picture!)

Location Location Location...

Sometimes we locate our businesses for very specific reasons.

One of my clients needed to showcase why, as an agency working in the health sector, (an industry full of white coats, metal glass and microscopes, dust-free clinical environments) their writing, comms and marketing team are located in rural North Wales.

Why did a team in a converted barn on a farm add value over a corporate central city office complex?

Why not look at the photographs to see for yourself why they might benefit from this location?

Where would you rather work? In a stuffy office block, or a beautiful green space surrounded by flowers, wildlife, and beautiful skies?

As a creative I know I thrive and my ideas flow when I walk, when I find peace outside between assignments...

Photoshoots, Your Face & My Top Confidence Tip!

When did you last update your asset folder 📂your social profiles 📲 &/or your 💻 website?

Isn't she amazing? And to think she told me I'm awkward infront of a camera and look stiff in photographs! 🙈

We actually had a great time photographing at the location chosen on our planning call, even with a few laughs along the way as I set up my lights to work within her space. 💃

As with all my clients I worked for the best angles so she didn't have to worry about where to be and how she looked. Used the inspiration shots as a bounceboard and made an even better collection of images which represented her personal brand and personality.

😄My top confidence tip: 😄

What you focus on is what you get
🪞 we are just like mirrors reflecting what we think and believe

So instead of focussing on...

"I look awkward in photographs ⚠️"

Focus upon something like:

💭 "This will help me get infront of the most amazing people who need what I have"

💡"Isn't it exciting that because of these photographs I will get to help so many more people."

🚀"I'm so encouraged that the fruit of today is my business will grow tomorrow"

This works in all areas of life and business - focus on the result and how you will feel and see what happens!

Three steps to increase your business visability:

Today I'm talking about getting seen, trusted and choosen through the lens of where you need photographs and why...

Photographs have different purposes... Some have more uses than others.

The difference between a studio style headshot and an event photograph (or for that matter a more environmental portrait) is huge and what you need can vary!

Where: Look at the list below and ask yourself what do you need images for?

- Website?
Authority building with your face on about - connection point - bookings or shop (depending on if you sell a product or service)

- Social Profiles?
Build brand recognition quickly with the same or similar series of shots for greater interest

- Bios?
These include on any website or print item or book you are featured on or in such as your own, an agency or associated websites.

- Interviewer content and Profiles?
What do you have to give to event hosts or podcasters when you are interviewed. Your speaker information is more than just a text profile - do you have good quality relevant photographs from headshot to action shots to give to the event hosts, for forum or podcast promotion before and use for cover shots on the day?

- Adverts?
Increase brand recognition, your reach, or trust - do you need pictures with particular activities or expressions? Do you need to remove the background from a portrait?

- Content?
Consistently posting builds trust. On some platforms e.g. facebook your face will get more engagement than photographs of STUFF

- Blog?
How can you make your text more interesting with photos? Action and context shots are great for helping people see and feel what it would be like to use your business or work with you

- Biz cards?
Remind people who you have met in person what you look like or what you do - so it isn't just another meaningless text card

- Behind the Scenes?
Environmental or event shots that help people feel like they are on the journey with you and see your personality

The list goes on...

Which do you need to add to your businesses assets folder today?

1) Make a note from the list above & add any others that come to mind

2) By each place jot down what photographs you need and either
a. how can you take them b. who already has them you can ask c. who you'll book a photoshoot with who will understand your needs and provide you with the files to match

3) Get the images and start uploading them ticking off your list as you go

Wow - what a powerhouse of a beautiful woman! Northwest based (and online) Becks Flynn Relationship Coaching was super knowledgeable and easy to relate to making her a treat to work with!

The beauty of my "job" is I get to work with so many fantastic people, find out about their businesses, hopes, dreams, goals, and aspirations in order to visualise their brand and then create images to work with that!

Becks is preparing to launch her new website (watch this space!) ready to help deliver her coaching and courses and has a fab challenge coming up which is definitely going to change lives and how we view ourselves!
