Just over half way through the year… I’ve been pretty terrible at social media but just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has trusted me with their music and already made 2024 the best yet.

The studio has never been busier - I’ve had the pleasure of wrapping my ears around seven albums, four EPs and a whole bunch of singles with artists from various corners of the UK… I love my job.

My diary is open for the autumn/winter with a tiny bit of space over the summer. Get in touch and let’s start planning your next record!

After six years of trusty service and 100s of mixes I have finally replaced my old Clear Pros…

I genuinely didn’t think anything could top them but the newer MGs are just wonderful and when paired with the Precision Headphone Amplifier there is a level of clarity and detail that truly astonishes me.

Listening to/working on music has never been more enjoyable.

Wahey! Tonight I’m getting my first play as a producer/mix engineer courtesy of the legendary who’ll be giving a spin!

I grew up with my dad listening to Bob Harris religiously on his portable radio and buying albums the following week of new bands he’d heard on the show.

A few days ago I was also lucky enough to get my first spin as a mastering engineer with thanks to my old friend and his wonderful big band.

It’s been a good week! Thank you to Neeve, Danny and all the artists who continue to trust me with their music!

It’s been five years since I opened Sloe Flower Studio. Here’s an old disposable from 2018 when it was still my actual bedroom with just a few bits and bobs on a desk my dad built for me.

I’ll try my best to avoid being soppy but think I should throw out a few thank yous…

To my mum and dad for being the most ridiculously supportive parents of all time. For not only helping get everything off the ground but for actively encouraging me to leave my cushy teaching job and pursue something creative. (And for continuing to let me eat everything in the fridge.)

To for trusting me with her songs and listening to me relentlessly talk about gear and recording techniques 24/7. For encouraging me every single day even when I’m fed up and think I’m the worst mix engineer of all time. For being there when this was all just a hopeful idea. (And for checking all of my instagram captions including this one.)

To all of the musicians who have ever recorded here, but especially to the regulars for continuously gifting me with their musicianship and creativity.

To for not only providing wizard-like mastering but for being the best mentor anybody could ask for, for continuing to get the best out of me and helping me keep a clear head.

To for being the spark that lit the fuse and always being a phone call away when I’m stressed or popping up with some sort of nerdy gear-related question.

And lastly, to every single artist who has trusted me with their music so far and allowed meto develop my craft and call this my job. It means the world.

Numbers and stats aren’t everything but it’s pretty nice to see my work being listened to across the world, with editorial features on and plays on the likes of and - the kid in the last picture would be buzzing.
