👋🏻 Hey you… yeah you.. the one mindlessly scrolling on your phone….if you have ADHD, did you know that scrolling on your phone only makes things worse with your ADHD? But that you keep doing it because it’s a form of instant gratification that gives you dopamine? I am my own worst enemy when it comes to this as my job is social media and so I spend ridiculous amounts of time staring at one screen or another. Whilst we now know that ADHD is genetic : there is also overwhelming evidence that ADHD symptoms can be amplified by our environment(screens/scrolling). A recent study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found a statistically significant link between frequent social media use and Attention-Deficit/Hyper-activity Disorder (ADHD).The study, conducted by the University of Southern California, followed 2,800 high school students over the course of two years. Those chosen to participate had no previous association with ADHD. Scientists found that those with a higher social media use were 53% more likely to experience new ADHD symptoms. This evening I went to a spin class and tonight I feel like a different person. Happier, sleepier, content. I know I’ll get some sleep tonight cause usually it takes me hours as my mind is always talking. I challenge you to swap the scrolling for exercise 2-3 evenings a week and to let me know how much better you feel x

If your content is rubbish no amount of posting at any time will help you.. 😜 but if your content is on point then not posting on the hour will also help.. it’s competitive at these times.. try and test posting at lots of different times… perhaps not in the middle of the night unless people with insomnia are your demographic!

If you’re feeling sad at this time of the year, you aren’t alone. I’m very fortunate to have family around me when so many don’t, but this time of year can really heighten emotion for many. I just wanted to say thank-you from the bottom of my heart for your messages, literally hundreds of them from people feeling the same way.
As private a person as I am on social media, I’m glad I shared my reality, depression doesn’t discriminate and some days are great and some are really sh1t.
Just knowing I’m not alone has made me feel incredible and if ever anyone feels rubbish, message me and I’ll ring you or meet you for a coffee. You’re buying 😂
