The Dalton Highway - famed for being the remotest road on Earth, is situated in northern Alaska, starts just north of Fairbanks, where you can hire bikes and heads due north following the length of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline (well at least a part of it) all the way to Deadhorse. It’s a graded road that is under constant repair due to the weather and heavy traffic, and climbs well above the Arctic circle where the permafrost is 2,000 feet deep, so don’t expect a great deal of cover if the weather turns south. And Deadhorse is a dry town, so go prepared! On route, there’s not a lot, one gas station about the midway point, so you will have to carry fuel. And a lot of cash, as the accommodation on route and in Deadhorse is costly. But then again, it’s the remotest road on Earth. Find out how you too can ride the Dalton Highway in issue 02 of Adventum by grabbing your copy now on our website: Adventum-magazine.uk

And they gave us samples of their fabulous product - no, this isn’t a sales pitch - but we thought it so good we had to share it! Find out why we liked the intrepid explorer products in issue 02 of Adventum by grabbing your copy now on our website: Adventum-magazine.uk

We share with you our favourite bike cafe hangout. HR4K in Hereford. Owned and run by ex special servicemen. It’s much more than a bikers cafe. Much more. It’s a support centre for ex servicemen and women, a space for the community, a work hub, an event space and a tattoo parlour… they also sell their own merchandise, put on bike meets and even sell their own coffee! Next time you’re in the area, you need to pop in and see the team at HR4K. Catch up on HR4K in issue 02 of Adventum by grabbing your copy now on our website: Adventum-magazine.uk

And he still won’t talk about it! Read about The Drovers Inn and the forest drives of the Trossachs and Galloway in issue 02 of Adventum at Adventum-magazine.uk/shop

My all time favourite road, the mountain road from Elan to Aberystwyth. Heading north is my preference as it climbs away from the reservoirs, then echoes the distant river that carves its way across the low level scrub off to your left. It then passes through an old mining area with abandoned buildings, before getting narrower through a handful of farms.

Trialling a new sheepskin seat cover from First impression is very positive and it looks good too. The last time I used a sheepskin it looked like I’d strapped something I found in the middle of the road to my bike. But not this cover. It’s almost… luxury. Soft. Warm. Good fit. Nice shape. It really does take that edge off the stock seat and it held up really well in the biblical weather. Cons…? Errrrmmm, the ties are a little long. But that’s nothing a pair of scissors can’t fix. Buy one.
