DJ Trademark

DJ Trademark The official page for DJ Trademark (Synchronome). Far from it! The crowd erupted. One of my favourite DJ’ing memories’. Upon his return from L.A.

UK Based Old School & Drum & Bass DJ

‘It’s never been about fame and fortune, but for the love of Music, I only want to entertain and make people dance’. Trademark (Aka Synchronome).

‘One of the first 12” singles I ever bought was “The Adventures of Grandmaster Flash on the Wheels of Steel”. Never did I ever imagine I would one day share the decks with him…’

Trademark (aka Synchronome), ha

s had a career spanning over 30 years which has taken him all over the world in support of some of the biggest DJ’s of his generation. With a vast music collection, he has always taken his plethora of musical influences and applied them to his DJ sets. Having been established from the early days of the rave scene we shouldn’t pigeonhole Trademark into just a Drum & Bass DJ. Mark recounts…

‘I have played alongside some of the greatest producers and DJ’s of all time. I love playing great music, and I will always try and take people onto that special journey with one of my sets. I played before Carl Cox at Bug Jam 36 (2023), and for my last tune dropped ‘Glue’ by Bicep. Having performed at some of the biggest early 90’s raves under Synchronome, he was also co-writer to the rave classic “Made In Two Minutes”, and went onto release “Turn Up The Strobe”, before heading to the bright lights of Hollywood armed with just his record box. Today he is regarded as one of the original founding DJ’s of the Los Angeles Jungle / Drum & Bass scene. This legacy still continues right through to today, where he is regularly invited to DJ as some of biggest clubs and festivals in the United States. and with a new DJ name Trademark, he then went on to DJ at some of the most legendary clubs in London. Trademark has also graced the turntables at festivals all over the U.K. He has supported and performed with artists such as Daft Punk, Joey Beltram, Carl Cox, Plump DJ’s, Krafty Kuts, Doc Martin, Steve Loria, Fabio, Roni Size, Krust, DJ Die, Randall, Kenny Ken, Jumping Jack Frost, Bryan Gee, Altern-8, 2 Bad Mice, Shades of Rhythm, Ratpack and many more. What’s interesting to know is that Mark has achieved all this with an imperfection to his left ear. His passion to play music and to entertain has helped him overcome this. Mark says…

Omni Trio - Feel Good (Original In Demand Mix). Going back to 1993 with this one, on a Moving Shadow 10” press. With Renegade Snares (Foul Play Remix) on the flip this was a huge release (with big future remixes to yet still come). I think this remix release certainly made more people aware of Ommi Trio and both tracks were rinsed on pirate radio and in DJ sets right across the Jungle / early d’n’b spectrum. Superb.

Another stone cold killer from the collection. This one is on a hand written test pressing direct from Headz HQ. Doc Scott absolutely nailed his 95’ remix of his earlier released 1992 track, ‘Hear Comes The Drumz’. Whereas the earlier release was on a Reinforced EP, the subsequent VIP Drumz came out on the very first Metalheadz release, ‘Unreleased Metal’, back in 1994 and then this killer on Metalheadz in 1995.

Throw back Thursday !

Probably 95/96. Headphones on, wearing my Formation Records MA2 and my first ever Stussy T shirt.

I think as well I was one of the first to get the new Formation designed MA2 straight from Formation HQ.

Big shout to DJSS and Tania, and there was one other guy who did the mail outs and I just can’t remember his name.

The game changer. We Are I.E. RIP Lennie De Ice.

Classic 1991 track from Lennie De Ice and considered by many to be the first track to spawn the Jungle music genre!
