Two really fun gigs this weekend! On Friday I was back at Owen House Wedding Barn for Adam and Shaun's wedding 🎩🎩. Great fun watching the antics caused by the top musicianship of the Aluinn Ceilidh Band - really hope to work with you again, guys! Then on Saturday I was over to Hawk Green Cricket Club for Nikki's birthday party. Lots of 90s dance mixed with a sound limiter and bees nesting next to the fire door entrance 😱 but a lovely bunch of people. Hope everyone had as good a night as I did ❤️

Double header today. Firstly an early start for The Joshua Bradley Bingo Brunch with the lovely Alexa T. Pack down from that and rush to Jenny and Tulio's wedding celebrations at Withington Golf Club including photo slideshow and karaoke. Two brilliant weddings this week, both in venues I've not visited before... Thursday saw me at Combermere Abbey to play for Rhianne and Ash, and tonight I've been to Owen House Wedding Barn with the tunes for Lisa and James, representing Love Music Events. Really enjoyed the live sax set from Gemma Wild too! And I sandwiched Hursthead Juniors leavers' party in between them!

Two-part day today: firstly singing at the RHS Flower Show, Tatton Park with Becca Donnan and the rest of the West End Musical Choir Manchester crew, and then onto the most gorgeous and unusual room at Bidlea Dairy in Holmes Chapel to DJ for Beckie's birthday party! 🎼🎵🎂

Second gig of the weekend, a rare Sunday afternoon outing to celebrate Kobe and Kyla's christenings. The karaoke is all set up, but I think the families will be outside enjoying the sunshine, and so they should! ❤️

If you’re looking for a DJ - or indeed any sort of supplier - for a wedding, you’ll see lots of them proudly displaying awards from lots of different industry bodies, or asking you to vote for them in an upcoming award category. But not this one.

I’m not knocking these organisations - they exist as businesses to promote their members, and they may help brides-and-grooms-to-be to find professional suppliers. But if you look back through my social media, I’m busy. I don’t advertise, and I don’t network much, except with a select few other local DJs who will suggest one another if we’re already booked on a given night. However, I’m very honoured to be mentioned by many previous customers whenever someone asks for recommendations in our local area. I like to think it helps that I concentrate my efforts on looking after customers to do the best job I can for them, rather than networking madly for votes for a badge to display.

If you’d like your suppliers to care about your occasion rather than their awards, why not see if you think I’m the DJ for you? Get in touch any way you like!

Just had a lovely moment before starting playing for James' birthday bash here tonight. While setting up I was kept entertained by a toddler called Parker who came over to show me his guitar. I was chatting to his family afterwards as they recognised me from the club's Christmas party a few months ago. Anyway, they told me that Parker had asked for a guitar for Christmas after watching the brilliant Daisy Kate at the same party! Inspiring the next generation, Daisy! 👊🏻 Hope to work with you again soon x
