Vigilante Studio is run by Rupert Withers, who has spent his whole career in the music industry in various different capacities.
Based in Buckinghamshire, within earshot of London, the studio comprises of both a well equipped recording and mixing facility, and a 28 track mobile recording studio, and offering mastering services, both online and in studio. s career as a live engineer, working with bands such as V***n, White Lion, Great White, COP UK, and Die So Fluid, both in the UK and across Europe, working at some of the biggest and most prestigious venues and festivals. Rupert’s credits include V***n (Live in Sweden and unreleased new tracks), Sham 69 (Live in London), Into the Unknown (Out of the Shadows and Breaking the Silence albums), Noel Fielding (vinyl stand up), Andy Parsons (post production audio on DVD), Ian Rowe (complete set of hypnotherapy CDs), The K*t (singles), and Will Kevans (Believe single). He has mastered numerous different genre tracks over the years. It offers mastering services, both online and in studio, (although the service is the same whether its booked online, or whether the client is in the studio … the online service not app based, there is an engineer listening to every track)
Vigilante Studio can accommodate most of your audio needs from recording, mixing and mastering, to audio restoration and conversions. We use top of the range software, including Protools, Izotope Ozone and RX, waves plugins and T Racks. We have a wide range of hardware, including shure and Rode microphones, multiple mix headphone systems, Euphonix/Avid digital desk, KRK Rocket monitors, Tascam interfaces (Rupert is a Tascam endorsee for the interface) and a full electronic drum kit, complete with mesh heads and Superior drummer software. It has been commented that the kit feels like playing on an acoustic kit. We also have Miroslav Philharmonic, Sampletank and Symphonic Choirs keyboard plugins (amongst others).
Very pleased to say that today marks the first release on the Vigilante label, of Dolby Atmos mixed tracks using the new upgraded Dolby Atmos Studio. Into The Unknown
The tracks should be available on all services that offer Atmos music (Apple Music, TIDAL etc) (although not spotify as they haven't embraced high end audio yet)

Today marks the release of 14 new albums! You may remember that the album 3D Rock 'n' Roll was created in the studio last year, and has been quite successful, so undertaking a fairly large project, 14 more volumes were created. Over 200 songs were remixed in 3D audio (from the original vinyl releases).
The studio upgrade is finally (hopefully) done ... we can now boast the latest Protools and Dolby Atmos software, including the ability to master in Dolby Atmos.
It was also nice to see the Andy Parsons stand up video that we worked on being broadcast on Comedy Central in the UK last night.
Very pleased to see that an album that was part recorded here in the studio was "Album of the Week" on BBC Radio Two in the UK last week, in addition to charting on the official UK charts (including a top 20 placing on the Official Indie charts.)

The new Invisible Symphony album "Immerse" is released today, mixed in 3D audio.
I'm pleased to announce that the album "3D Rock n Roll" is released today.
I have taken original Rock n Roll recordings and remixed them in spatial audio, culminating in the album "3D Rock n Roll", out now on Amazon, Spotify etc. Unlike a lot of spatial audio releases, this does not need specialist equipment to listen to (like Dolby Atmos), and does not require any 3D audio mode to listen to (such as one apple devices). It is basically a standard audio file, although designed for listening on headphones to get the 360 effect.
I've just finished mixing the Invisible Symphony version of "Ghost Love Score" for the next album, an ambitious undertaking (and done in 3D audio).

Its actually been quite a busy few months. Lots of mastering, and recording, with some great people in the studio (including a pop star thats had UK top 3 album success, as well as a star of Strictly)
A couple of weeks time sees the release of a project that I did a while back, a remixed and remastered album of classic Rock n Roll tracks ... all original recordings but mixed in 3D audio.
I've also nearly finished the new Invisible Symphony album (unbelievably the last album "Hybrid" has been very popular - especially in India!). I'm also still working on the new Into The Unknown material, and hopefully one of the projects will see a release this year, with the 3rd full studio album out next year (very excited about this ... the new extended line up have written some great tunes)

Over the last few months, I've been concentrating on working in immersive audio, primarily Dolby Atmos (The nice people at Dolby helped set up the system in the studio and recognise Vigilante Studio as a studio able to work in Dolby Atmos.)
I have also discovered a way of doing immersive 3D audio within standard file formats (Dolby Atmos needs specially equipped devices for playback). As a result of this, I have remixed a song from the last Into The Unknown album (Into The Unknown ) and they put it up on youtube.

The original Invisible Symphony albums were orchestrated versions of 80's songs, but on this one its been expanded to include other instruments, such as electric guitar and string quartets, and the songs are not all from the 80's. Thus the reason for the title "Hybrid".

I had a blast last week in the studio, working on a rock Karaoke album!
I probably put more into it than I should,as I've been told that they sound more like real backing tracks than the average karaoke song :)
18 tracks in all, with songs from bands such as Lordi, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Nightwish, Van Halen, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, GNR ....
Hopefully will be released in about 6 weeks.
Released today is a single from Wolfberry, recorded and produced here in the studio, and is a collaboration between Wolfberry, and Into The Unknown.

I didn't think that there would be any more Invisible Symphony albums (I never expected to do more than one, but there have been three now!), however, following the popularity of the collaboration with Lucie, and a burst of inspiration after a major studio upgrade, a new album is on its way! The new one will be titled "Hybrid", as this allows the introduction of electric guitars and other such things! Don't worry, there will still be classic songs, orchestrated, but this time there will be a few film & TV themes etc., as well.

This week I've been working on the new single for Wolfberry, an interesting take on a rock classic ... watch this space for details of the release.
I am lucky to have a very diverse range of jobs coming into the studio on a weekly basis, but last week I had one of the types of job that I find most rewarding.
In addition to recording and mastering, I also do audio restoration. A lady sent me a cassette last week, with the only recording that she had of her Father, who died when she was 11. It was only short, and basically unintelligible, but she wanted me to try and enhance it, so that she could surprise her sisters at Christmas with their Fathers voice.
It certainly wasn’t the easiest job that I have ever done, but it was important to do it … and at the end of the day, the client is overjoyed at the result.
Shaping up to being a busy week in the studio ... kicked off by mastering some more tracks for Cymphonik. Well worth checking out.
