What a great movie to be seen of the big screen of a great cinema; The Lyric,

Well done Carmarthen Film Club and Carmarthen Bay Film Festival CBFF - Gŵyl Ffilm Bae Caerfyrddin

-- Excellence Should Be Seen On Screen --

As many of you know is the motto and underlying principle of the Carmarthen Bay Film Festival. For this reason we are very happy and extremely excited to be supporting our local film club, the Carmarthen Film Club, based at Lyric Cinema, , .

The Lyric has been made famous, not just here in Wales but around the world by the movie 'Save the Cinema [2022]', based on the campaign headed by Samantha Morton to save The Lyric Cinema in the 1990s and the support that it received to achieve this from none other than Steven Spielberg.

Through out the year the Carmarthen Film Club will be screening classic movies that were made for and should be seen in their rightful place, on the big screen. As well as this, amongst it's schedule will be a range of shorts and features showcasing the best of Welsh, British and international independent filmmaking talent.

With such a wonderful history and an exciting time ahead it is only fitting that this year's Carmarthen Film Club schedule should kick off on February 3rd at 7.30pm at The Lyric with Spielberg's sci-fi masterpiece, 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind', starring Richard Dreyfuss, Melinda Dillon, Teri Garr, Bob Balaban, Cary Guffey, and François Truffaut.
