If you’ve not seen McFly on their summer shows they return to Cardiff for a very special gig on Wednesday 21st August with guest Sam Ryder.
With seven UK number-one singles, seven top-ten albums (including 2023’s Power to Play), numerous awards including a BRIT for Best Pop Act, sold out arena tours and over ten million records sold worldwide, McFly are without question one of the most significant British acts of the twenty-first century.
Since forming in 2003 and becoming the youngest band ever to have a debut album go straight to number one – beat The Beatles’ long-standing record – Tom, Danny, Dougie & Harry have become one of our best-loved bands, not to mention major stars in their own right.

Only in Wales would this happen.
At the end of the first day of Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru the spontaneous singing started at the railway station. It’s so brilliant.
Thanks Lestyn.
The 2024 Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru takes place in beautiful Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, Pontypridd, where the iconic Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau was written and composed, almost 200 years ago.
There is so much to explore and enjoy in the town and the wider county borough, including exclusive access to award-winning attractions for Eisteddfod ticket holders.
As you can imagine traffic will be incredibly busy, whether you're going to the event or simply trying to negotiate your way around town.

We wandered in to Sin City Comics & Gaming Newport Retail Park today and noticed they have a Comic Fair coming up this month (27th July).
With it being at the start of the holidays, and a free event to attend, we thought it perfect to grab the kids (young and old) and take them along.
We got the manager Alys Rogers to tell us what's going on and also what's comic book hot at the moment.
If you've seen the smash-hit critically acclaimed BBC One drama that entertained millions of us over four series then you're gonna love the stage adaptation of Kay Mellor's The Syndicate Stage Play which gets to New Theatre Cardiff soon.
With a fantastic cast led by Gaynor Faye who is Kay's real life daughter, the show is a real celebration of the comedy and drama of one of our best writers who sadly died in 2022.
Here's Brooke Vincent and Samantha Giles to tell us more.
The excitement is building as the city prepares to welcome athletes from all over the UK and further afield as Wales’ biggest Summer RUNFEST event returns this weekend.
The Swansea University Swansea Half Marathon will return for its landmark 10th anniversary event this Sunday (9th June). Starting from outside Swansea Arena, underneath the iconic Copr Bay bridge.
The elite wheelchair race will commence at 8.55 am before the main field of runners at 9.00 am, closely followed by the brand-new Front Runner City 5 miler at 9.15am and the Freedom Family Fun Run at 9.20am
The mass participation event, which has welcomed more than 45,000 participants since 2014, and has inspired thousands more to take up running and improve healthy lifestyles.
With an estimated £6.5 million having been raised for charity, it’s clear this event is one of the biggest single-day fundraising events in the city.

The UK will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Normandy Landings on 6 June 1944 with a series of major commemorations and events across the UK and in France.
Also known as D-Day, the historic operation saw the Allied Forces mount a large-scale invasion of Nazi-occupied France that ultimately tipped the course of the Second World War in the Allies’ favour.
The bravery and sacrifice of those people in securing the peace and freedom we enjoy today will be observed by the lighting of beacons around the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories.
The Queen Elizabeth II playing fields in Ringland will be hosting Newport’s beacon lighting ceremony to remember the 210,000 Allied casualties of the landings. The event will start at 7:30pm with beacon lit at 9:15pm. It will be followed by the reading of an international tribute.
Before the lighting of the Beacon, there will be musical performances by Gwent Music Brass Ensemble, Gwent Music Celtic Group, City of Newport Male Choir and Newport Cathedral Choir. Come along, bring a picnic and chair and join in.
A road closure will be in place on Edward German Crescent and Butterworth Close from 5:30pm to 10pm. Access will be available on Edward German Crescent from its access off Sterndale Bennett Close to Newman Close, Warlock Close and Tippett Close.

It’s been a fantastic weekend at St Michael’s, Llanvihangel, Crucorney.
The flower festival theme was musicals and it looked so good.
So much so, we went up to the church to grab some shots before it all came down so you could see.
Congratulations to the Abergavenny Flower Arrangement Society #flowerfestival #flowerarrangement #musicaltheatre #abergavenny #breconbeacons
There are now more than 100 National Forest sites in Wales.
Six new sites were named by Climate Change and Rural Affairs Secretary Huw Irranca-Davies on a visit to meet woodland volunteers at a site in Coed y Bont near Tregaron.
The National Forest for Wales status scheme will create a network of woodlands running the length and breadth of Wales with interconnected ecosystems.
We have links to every forest site in Wales in our feature here....
