A small distro update today with a little bit of everything.

The amazing new F. Emasculata album on random colour vinyl.

A restock of the fantastic split LP from The Last Mile and PEZZ as well as more copies of the final HEAVY HEART LP, courtesy of Rad Girlfriend Records.

A couple of Cat's Claw releases from Random Heroes and Pat Decline (of The Decline) and finally, more copies of the Dead Bob (Nomeansno / Hanson Brothers) debut LP which is essential.

These are the 3 Brassneck releases of 2025 so far. There'll be another one following in March so, if you haven't got the records by GLU, Blagged & Novacane yet, this weekend is as good a time as any.

Vicious Dreams' 2nd album 'Turn Off My Brain' was released last year but sold out very quickly in the UK. Luckily I've managed to secure another 10 copies from the band in the US and they're available and shipping now from Brassneck. Don't sleep on these...

NEW RELEASE!!

I always find writing about bands difficult. Mainly because it's hard to find something that hasn't been said before or to do the music I love justice in a couple of snappy paragraphs. It's even harder when the band in question don't really sound like anything else. And that's where GLU come in.

Formerly 'Girls Like Us', GLU are a London based trio whose debut album 'These Rotting Flowers' is released today by Brassneck Records. A 10 track hybrid of punk, post punk, riot grrrl, grunge, and anything else you care to mention all wrapped up in under 25 minutes. But no matter the subgenre, one thing is apparent throughout. The rage.

But don't take my word for it. You can stream or download the whole thing right now or pick up one of the 2 limited colour vinyl pressings. There's 103 clear vinyl copies and 153 blue smoke vinyl copies.

It's great working with well established bands, but I've always loved putting out debut releases for new bands. That's been the case since the very beginning and it's a trend that continues to this day. Specifically, it continues with Novacane; a new band of youngsters from Manchester whose 7" EP 'That Numbing Feeling' is out today.

An early live review of their opening slot at last year's Manchester Punk Festival described them as "brash young indie punks" and that seems a fair headline if you don't want to look below the surface. 4 guys in their late teens who are as influenced by the punk and hardcore bands we all love as they are by the alternative rock and indie scenes. But there's more of course. There's always more.

Limited to 250 copies on bright green vinyl, the record presents the band's first 4 recorded songs and their energy and passion is evident throughout. Engineered by Will from Stay Clean Jolene and Mastered by Matt from Holiday, the fingerprints of the North West's DIY punk scene are all over this release, so please take a moment out of your busy day to lend your ears to Novacane.

My mates GLU are coming to Cardiff for the first time, so the wonderful people at Detonation Records and myself are putting on a gig.

Cardiff, like so many other cities and towns across the UK, is suffering from continuing grass roots venue closures, so the city is adapting and so are we. The show will be held at new venue THE CANOPI as part of The Sustainable Studio on Tudor Street. There's a stage, a bar and it's wheelchair accessible.

GorZ and 51st State are supporting, so you know its going to be a great night. Please come along and show your support for live music and DIY punk in Wales.

A few new records added to the distro today.

The wonderful new album from The Mugwumps plus a couple of their previous split 7"s with THE VAPIDS & THE WANNA-BES, not to mention the new EP from one of my very favourite Italian bands, Teenage Bubblegums which sees them develop their sound to the next level. A restock of a previous bestseller LP from Italian vegans SEITANS and, last but not least, hot on the heels of the last one, it's another new album from the magnificent SIMON WELLS.

And while we're all here, there's also a pre-order from my pals at Lavasocks Records in the US. It's 10 years since Brassneck & Boss Tuneage released the first Spoilers record. Seems like a good reason to celebrate right?
