Mistakes in witchcraft are natural ⤵️
But one thing I've noticed- from personal experience and from observation- is that beginner witches tend to make these mistakes most often, and it's seriously stunting their growth.
🙏🏻 But the good news? These mistakes are easy to avoid once you're aware of them.
🌀 1. TRYING TO LEARN TOO MUCH ALL AT ONCE - it's exciting getting into witchcraft, and most of us want to learn everything and anything, but did you know that this is actually hindering your ability? When we put our eggs into too many baskets, we get strung out and stressed and too overwhelmed. Focus on 2 or 3 things at a time, and when you're ready, move on to the next.
🌀 2. NOT FORMING A PROTECTION MAGIC RELATIONSHIP - I know the big rituals and spells seem the most exciting, but how can you dive into the deep water without diving gear? Not researching and familiarising yourself with protection magic as a top priority is not only silly, but can be dangerous at times. It doesn't have to be an intense method either, just have one!
🌀 3. ATTEMPTING SPELLS AND RITUALS WITHOUT PROPER RESEARCH - look, research is fundamental when it comes to witchcraft. You can't be a witch without it. So if you're performing rituals and spells without doing the groundwork first, how can you expect them to work? Research everything. Question everything. Ask more experienced witches questions if you feel comfortable. There's never too much knowledge to acquire.
Being a new witch is a wonderful experience, but don't make it harder than it needs to be!

The Celts & Christians knew the power of the Yew ⤵️
Yew Trees are seen as being incredibly sacred in Celtic culture. In Welsh folklore, they are one of the many entrances or portals to Annwfn- the Welsh Otherworld.
🌀 When the Christians began converting the Celtic pagans, they started to build on top of sacred spaces across the landscape, and you can still see traces of that today.
Have you ever noticed that almost every graveyard, every cemetery in the UK has at least one yew tree in the grounds?
The Christians understood just how important these mystical trees were to the Celts.
🌲 Yew trees are one of the most liminal trees. They are potent portals between life and death, between the seen and unseen realms.
Next time you find yourself in a graveyard or cemetery, have a look for some yew trees & go and spend some time with them.

The Celts coined the term 'Thin Place' ⤵️
More specifically, the Celtic Christians & Christians of that age did.
🌀 But in order to understand the term 'Thin Place' in it's more original context, we need to delve into what was going on at the time.
When the Christians started to convert the Celtic people from paganism to Christianity, lots of our sacred pagan sites were converted into churches and places of Christian worship.
💭 And you can still see traces of the pagan sites to this day.

There is so much power in being a witch ⤵️

So how do you become a great witch? 🔮⤵️
It's simple really: be authentically you.
🌿 Be authentic in the way you practice. Stay true to your values and beliefs.
🌿 Be humble. We can't be right all the time, even when we do know what we are talking about. It's ok to be wrong.
🌿 Be kind. You don't have to like everyone, but that doesn't mean you can't be kind to others and the world around you.
🌿 Embrace your shadow. Even the darker parts of you need love and acceptance in order to grow.
🌿 Be Respectful. To the world, the trees, other people, yourself. You can show respect without being pushed around and breaking your own boundaries.
When you are authentic, humble, kind, and you give LOVE to yourself, these are all qualities that create a fantastic witch. Heck, these are all qualities that will just improve your life, whether you're a witch or not.
It's not about how many books you've written, how many talks you've done, or how many followers you have. These things are all amazing achievements, don't get me wrong, but becoming a Greta witch starts with your own inner world and how you reflect the inner to the outer.
🔮 Follow your own path sweet souls. Do what feels right to you, take advice when you need it, give advice when you authentically can. Build other witches up, stand up for those who need it. Be dedicated to your craft.
This is the secret to being a great witch.

Do you feel change coming in your craft? ⤵️
As you spend more time traversing your spiritual path as a witch, a conjuror, a shaman, a druid, or anything else, there will come times when you're ready to move on to the next phase of your craft and study.
These times of evolution are incredibly liminal and sacred times, they are boundaries and thresholds of deep realisations, times of completion, and times of rebirth.

- The liminal realms make us more sensitive to change, differences in energies, emotions, and metaphysical beings. In these liminal states we can SENSE the changes, we KNOW something is brewing and coming. You can feel the tides turning as your craft evolves.

Sometimes it's rest, but that can't be the case all of the time 👀⤵️
I encourage people not to overwork themselves when it comes to witchcraft and spirituality- to take breaks and take a step back if they need to.
🌸 But it is also important to make sure you're doing the hard work too 🌸
There has to be a balance in there.
Sometimes, ritual and ceremony requires weeks of preparation, purging yourself of energies and thoughts and techniques you no longer need.
Sometimes, it requires you to do the hard shadow work, facing your traumas and aspects of yourself you aren't a big fan of.
Sometimes, it requires you to try new paths and avenues to align better with your highest self.
🔮 Witchcraft isn't meant to be easy 🔮
It is a journey. A life long journey of self discovery, understanding the many worlds around us, both inner and outer.
It is so, so important not to feel guilty if you aren't practicing much at the moment. We all go through it, but this is a caring reminder to make sure you ARE putting the hard work in to.
🌿 When you have that balance there, you reach equilibrium. You align with your highest self and potential.
Have the rest days and weeks when you need them, but face the hard work when it does call to you.
Witchcraft isn't all airy fairy floating in the forest, sometimes it is raw, sweat and tears, primal, stripping you back to your core 🙏🏻
