After a lifetime of playing saxophone and flute as a well-regarded sideman and session player in a multitude of bands - famous and infamous, celebrated and under-the-radar - Paul Speare is now bringing to life his own compositions for the first time. Working with players who are not only capable of meeting the challenges of this demanding material, but also bring their own indefinable qualities, P

aul's intention is to create a fusion of influences - jazz, classical, prog and soul. Some of the compositions refer to locations that have been influential in Paul's life, and use a variety of meters. The first pieces will be performed live to video and released in sequence on YouTube, followed later in the year by studio-recorded tracks featuring some of Paul's favourite soloists.
