EACTS TV Studio
WaveFX Transforms Lisbon into a Live Streaming Hub
WaveFX has just returned from a week in Portugal, filming and live streaming for EACTS (European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery). This prestigious scientific event stands as the largest global gathering for the cardiothoracic community, drawing thousands of delegates from around the world. With such a diverse audience, it was the perfect opportunity to showcase innovations and insights in the field.
Studio Production
The WaveFX team of four set up a state-of-the-art studio right in the heart of the EACTS exhibition space. Over the course of five days, we produced and broadcast a remarkable 40 hours of content, ensuring that key discussions and presentations were accessible to both in-person attendees and a global online audience. Our goal was to enhance the event experience by delivering high-quality, engaging content that highlighted the latest advancements in cardiothoracic surgery.
Always Social
Equipped with professional cameras, a vision mixer, and a streaming encoder, we ensured flawless execution of each broadcast. The content was streamed live not only to the dedicated event app from the streaming hub but also simultaneously to major social media platforms, including LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, and Facebook. This multi-platform approach allowed us to reach a wider audience, facilitating real-time engagement and interaction among participants.
The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive. Participants praised the streaming hub professionalism and clarity of our broadcasts, highlighting how our efforts enhanced their experience at the event. The seamless transitions and engaging content kept viewers captivated, fostering a sense of community among attendees.
Katie Bingham, Events Coordinator EACTS commented “I only have positive things to say about Jamie and the team. They supported us with the production of our onsite TV studio, which runs in conjunction with our Annual
The science of a firearm
Animating the science of a firearm
Creating and animating 3D models and places, real-world cameras simply can’t reach.
Our talented CG artists can bring any process to life, for example this STEM based client wanted to show the firing process of a firearm.
Using Autodesk 3DS Max software we created and animated a bespoke 3D model, adding effects such as motion blur, smoke and fire (to be honest we loved that bit).
We’ve been animating the world for over 20 years, so if you have a project or idea (however crazy) please get in touch. We’d love to chat over the options.

Live events are back, why is webcasting is still beneficial?
Live events are back, but why is webcasting still beneficial?
Webcasting has become an increasingly popular way to reach audiences beyond the physical venue of a live event. Whether it’s a conference, concert, sporting event, or any other gathering, webcasting allows people from all over the world to tune in and experience the event in real-time.
There are many benefits to webcasting live events. First and foremost, it greatly expands the reach of the event. Instead of limiting attendance to those who can physically be there, webcasting allows anyone with an internet connection to participate. This can lead to increased engagement, as people who would not have been able to attend in person can now experience the event.
Another advantage of webcasting is the ability to capture and archive the event for later viewing. This is especially useful for conferences, where attendees may want to refer back to presentations or discussions after the event is over. It also allows those who missed the live event to catch up on what they missed.
When it comes to webcasting live events, there are a few key things to keep in mind. First, it’s important to have the right equipment and technology in place. This includes high-quality cameras, microphones, and internet connectivity. It’s also important to have a reliable streaming platform that can handle the expected traffic.
Second, it’s important to consider the needs of the remote audience. This may include providing live captions or translations, as well as creating interactive elements to engage viewers. It’s also important to ensure that the webcast is accessible to those with disabilities, by providing closed captions or audio descriptions.
Finally, it’s important to promote the webcast in advance to ensure that people are aware of it and able to tune in. This can be done through social media, email marketing, or other channels.
Overall, webcasting is a powerful tool for extending the reach of live events and
