Only 10 days to go until our evening of celebration for HAPPA Direct's 1st birthday!

First time you've heard about this? Well let us paint you a picture!

Imagine.... you're sat in our arena grandstand with a cocktail from Poison Ivy waiting for everything to start and chatting with people who are like-minded equestrians. Then, the crowd goes silent as you're welcomed to our celebration. You see demonstrations from HAPPA Direct's very own Beverley about creative clipping and Mark Fullers intro to Legerete. You listen to the great advice given from Smart Saddles, Stanley House Vets and Carr & Day & Martin. You might feel a little hungry half way through so you make your way to the cafe who have prepared your chosen meal, and wash it down with another cheeky cocktail. It's a birthday celebration after all 😜 Now the buzz of the evening is kicking in and you couldn't possibly leave without taking advantage of the instore discounts! Is that another curry comb....why not!

Yesterday, we celebrated the official opening of HAPPA - Horse & Pony Protection Association Museum – ‘The Evolution of Equine Welfare’. 🐴💙

In 1972 following HAPPA’s move from London to the Northwest of England, Pam Wood offered her own farm as the Charity’s rescue centre. The move to the north of England ensured that the Charity had a settled and secure base to continue to rescue horses, ponies and donkeys from cruelty and neglect.

Pam Wood is also credited with creating the first HAPPA museum many years ago dedicated to the history of the horse in Lancashire and HAPPA’s history of rescuing equines from cruelty and neglect, once based at The Inn at the Wharf in Burnley.

Pam Wood passed away on the 27th of September 2022, she remembered HAPPA in her will, leaving a gift to the charity. In memory of all Pam did we are bringing her work back to life by creating the ‘Evolution of Equine Welfare’ museum at Shores Hey Farm.

The museum highlights the work of HAPPA’s founder and pioneer Mona Huskie, who was intent at putting a stop to the transporting equines for slaughter. From Mona Huskie campaigning on the docks to Pam Wood opening her stable yard to the Charity as a haven for horses in need. The Museum takes you on a journey throughout time.

Thanks to everyone who joins us on our live auctions and those who place bids. We can’t thank you enough for supporting HAPPA - Horse & Pony Protection Association.

Would all you wonderful people please, please, please pay for the items that you won either last week or the previous weeks by 12pm tomorrow, otherwise we will have no choice but to put your items back into stock.

We are an extremely small team with limited storage space. We really don’t have time to continuously chase for payments of items that have been won!!!

We’re here to raise funds for all the equines in our care, and that is our mission. If you bid on items and win them then please have the decency to pay for them promptly. Much appreciation to our followers who do so every week. 😙
