As we all know, social media is constantly changing, so it can be hard to keep up with the newest trends and updates, which is why I made it easier for you!

I've researched the most interesting social media trends for this year, so you don't have to 😉

Here is what you should watch out for in 2022:

1. The rise of LinkedIn Influencer
2. TikTok is the place to be in 2022
3. Meme content isn't going anywhere
4. Snackable content is the way to go
5. No more 'perfectly curated feed aesthetic'. 2022 is all about authenticity and being in the moment, although I must say I do like aesthetically pleasing feed, it can be hard to keep it up, so I won't be focusing all my energy on that, instead it will be about building an engaging audience

Of course, these are just predictions for this year to see what's going to be trending and what you should focus on, but as we all know, there will be many more updates and trends in a social media world that can certainly surprise us.

Exactly a year ago, I started my journey as a freelance social media manager 🎉

Looking back at my calendar from January 2021 made me realise that you really don't know how a decision of starting something can make a difference in your life.

When I started my journey as a SMM, I didn't really think this would be something I could make a career of and turn into a profitable business. At that time, I wanted to try something new, and since I completed a degree in marketing, I thought it would be wise to actually use it 😄

Little did I know, working for yourself and doing social media marketing it's not actually what they teach you at uni🤣. I mean, I am really pleased I did this as my chosen course as it really helped me with some aspects of the job, but in practice, social media is constantly changing, so you have to keep learning as you go on, and they don't really teach you about running your own business!

I have big plans for this year, and I know there are going to be challenges and obstacles on my way, but I know it will all be worth it 💖

Getting in front of your potential customers has become so much easier over the time with the constantly evolving social media and the new features. You might think, yes that’s true, but you have to have a big budget to spend on the ads 😒 … well actually that’s not the case!

Yes paid ads can help you show up in front of customers, when done right, but there are so many other ways you can actually do it the organic way 🙌 Check them below

1. Use all the features that social media platforms offer, for example the new link in features on Instagram stories. This is a great way to link your website, products, services etc to your audience via stories.

2. Use geolocations to establish local presence and show your content to your local community. This is great for businesses with physical locations, but you can also use it even if you don’t have a physical store but targeting local audience or location specific.

3. Engage with your audience via hashtags. Do some research on what hashtags your potential customers are more likely to use and engage with accounts that use them.

4. Join Facebook groups within your niche and start connecting with group members by answering and asking relevant questions. Just make sure you don’t spam the group by only promoting your business, that doesn’t usually work well and you may even get banned from the group!

5. Be consistent with your posting! Having a consistent posting schedule can help you build your presence and show up in front of your audience more often. It doesn’t necessarily mean you have to post every day, unless you can then go ahead, but creating a schedule for example with regular 3 posts a week can help you boost your visibility.

Here are some of my top tips to set yourself up for a fresh start this month ✨

💭 Reflect on your last month - go through what has happened and what were your wins, but remember even the smallest wins are still wins! Don’t put too much pressure on yourself if you haven’t achieved everything you wanted, take this as an opportunity to work towards your goals this month

🗑 Declutter your space , digital and your actual workplace! If you want to start fresh and the right way, clean your emails, unneeded files on your desk etc … you’ll see it will help you concentrate better

📝 Do a brain dump - this can help you get everything down on paper and clear your mind so there’s a space for new ideas

To market your services or products the right way, you need to know who is your ideal customer. That way you will know what their needs are and how to attract them to your offers, but how do you actually determine who is your ideal client?

Here are four steps to create an ideal client avatar for your business:

1. Identify who is NOT your ideal client
2. Make a list of people who you want to work with/ offer your products and services to
3. Check your analytics for any relevant data
4. Do some further research- this could be conducting a survey on your current and potential clients

We all have goals to achieve, and if we want to reach them we need to concentrate on the first steps that are ahead of us

This applies to anything in life but specifically if you have a goal to sell your products or services on social media and increase your following, you should create a simple list of things you need to do and do it one by one. It's much easier to track your progress when you focus on one step at a time rather than everything at once
