“Today marks 10 years since the passing of the legendary Chicago-native DJ Rashad, one of the founders and pioneers of footwork and juke music. As well as co-founding Teklife Records with DJ Spinn, he was an ambassador for footwork culture worldwide and an essential part of the social and sonic fabric that makes footwork what it is today. This hour special, in memory of DJ Rashad, gives a glimpse into the genre he was so prolific in creating and promoting to the world. I’ll also be talking about footwork as a culture of resistance for the people who live and breathe it in Chicago”

On 1st May we’ll be showing a one off screening of folk horror classic ‘The Blood on Satan’s Claw’, alongside a live rescore of Maya Deren’s short film Witch’s Cradle, performed by the incredible Tara Clerkin Trio ()

There will also be a performance by Pigsty Morris Dancers on Cascade Steps ahead of the screening.

"This Christmas in Palestine, our people are facing a new cycle of unspeakable violence and savagery. Words are missing to convey our outrage, our sadness, and our feeling of helplessness.

On the 24th of December at 8pm (Palestine time) and through the waves of radio alHara and many other radios, the Wonder Cabinet in Bethlehem will broadcast an original production of sonic mourning with electronic musicians Sary Moussa (Beirut), Abed Kobeissy (Beirut), and the Greek Orthodox tenor of the Church of the Nativity, Laurence Sammour (Bethlehem).

This remote collaboration is a mourning sound piece using religious recitals in an electronic composition. It is an attempt at producing a physical materialization of remote solidarity"
