Recently, we have been working with SGS College providing guidance for their animation students as part of our outreach programme. We set a brief to create a storyboard for an animation on the theme of diversity and inclusion and star student Jacob created this fantastic animation.

Great to see that Pip and Posy Let's Learn on Sky Kids has been announced as a finalist in the Broadcast Magazine Digital Awards, in the Best Digital Children’s Content category!
We’re proud to have provided animation services for Magic Light which produced this delightful series based on the wonderful books illustrated by Axel Scheffler (The Gruffalo).
It was great to welcome back Simon Nelson from Same Difference yesterday. This time we explored the topic of microaggressions at work and how to have constructive conversations when they occur. Simon delivered yet another engaging and informative session which forms part of our ongoing workplace equality, diversity & inclusion training.

We’re proud to have worked on a new animated series of videos for Sesame Workshop that supports the emotional wellbeing of young people and families. The new animated shorts are part of the multi-platform initiative from the global impact nonprofit behind Sesame Street, offering strategies that support children and families as part of the US Mental Health Awareness Month.
You can see three of the videos we provided animation services for - “Brain Food”, “Bedtime Meltdown”, and “Twiddlebugs Get Moving” on Sesame.org now and a further five will be released on 17th June.

Fantastic news that Bea’s Block has been nominated for best upper preschool TV series in the Pulcinella awards at 2024!
We’ve loved playing our part in bringing these characters to our screens in this kind and humorous series for pre-school kids from the makers of Sesame Street.
The show is a kindness adventure centred on a compassionate and curious five-year-old Bea and her two best friends Ty and Lexi. Produced by Sesame Workshop , the global impact nonprofit organisation behind Sesame Street, in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery, it is animated by A Productions.
Cartoons on the Bay is an international festival of animation, transmedia and meta-arts that takes place in Pescara, Italy, from May 29th to June 2nd, 2024.

It’s not all work, work, work here at A Productions, we like to have fun too! After a busy few weeks, we decided to let our hair down at Laser Fusion in Bristol, where our editor Logan came top of the WORLD leaderboard. Well done Logan- even it if was only for a day, a winner is a winner!
Rebecca, one of our designers, organised a really fun egg hunt in the studio today. There were chocolate treats galore! Happy Easter!
It was great to welcome the brilliant Simon Nelson from Same Difference, who ran a fascinating workshop for our staff recently on the subject of ‘unconscious bias’. A thought-provoking introduction to the subject, and hopefully more to come soon. This workshop formed part of our ongoing workplace equality, diversity and inclusion training, which is vital to creating a collaborative, inclusive and supportive environment for our amazing team!
Kay Benbow was a real champion of Kids Television.
We first worked together on the Tweenies where Kay was directing, and we went on to enjoy a friendship from then on. At CBeebies, Kay was the driving force behind so many good things and was supportive, knowledgeable, and generous in the way she worked with you. It’s hard to describe her loss, but we can appreciate the huge legacy she leaves us with.
All of us at A Productions say farewell with fond memories and sadness at the loss of a good friend.
Our thoughts are with Kay's family at this time.
We had another very successful bake sale in the studio. Our ludicrous love of cakes raised an amazing £850 for The Daisy Ward of Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and all their wonderful work.

A wealth of talent from the region gathered at Watershed last week for the highly coveted annual Royal Television Society West of England Student Awards. Our director Joanna Hepworth joined other industry professionals on the judging panel for the Animation and Drama categories and was impressed by the quality of the entries.
There is so much TV industry talent in the region and the awards provided a real insight into who to look out for in the future. All the winners and short-listed candidates should be so proud of what they have achieved - we look forward to seeing what the next few years hold for them!

We’re excited to see that Sesame Street season 54 has launched in the US on MAX and are proud to have worked with Sesame Workshop to provide animation for this award-winning show.
Many of us grew up watching this iconic show which continues to educate and entertain through fun and uplifting stories that reflect and celebrate our diverse world.
We’re also all thrilled to see that everyone’s favourite furry friends, Elmo and Tango are back for an annual airing The Nutcracker: Starring Elmo and Tango. We developed the animation and design look for this retelling of a classic Christmas tale and are delighted it is becoming a new family holiday classic.

It’s wonderful to see that a Sesame Street special we’ve worked on with Films at 59 has been nominated for an award in the Emmys / Television Academy annual Children’s & Family awards.
A Productions produced the animation for The Nutcracker: starring Elmo and Tango, a Sesame Street special and Films@59 provided the sound editing and mixing, which has been nominated for a prestigious award.
Our director Jo Hepworth has headed out to Los Angeles with Films@59 sound editor David Yapp to attend the awards ceremony.
An original take on a classic Christmas tale, The Nutcracker: starring Elmo and Tango is a celebration of the greatest gift of all: friendship. It debuted in the US last year and is set to make another appearance this Christmas on MAX and for the first time on PBS KIDS.

NextGen is proud to introduce a transformative free 10-week Skills Bootcamp for the West England Combined Authority (WECA) region.
We are delighted to see The Musical World of Mr Zoink, the animated series we created and produced for Sesame Workshop has been bought by Sky TV .
This fun series, screening in the UK on Sky Kids and NOW , introduces pre-school children to music and rhythm in a playful and colourful way, with an upbeat score composed by Ashley Slater.
Directed by our own Mark Taylor and produced by Katherine McQueen, the show sees Mr Zoink and his friends Hoot, Bops and The Octos having a series of crazy musical adventures.
The series was created and produced by us in Bristol and following investment from Cyber Group, our plan is to create and produce more original shows from our studio.
We’re celebrating a great start to the week with the news that the JoJo & Gran Gran special It’s Time to Visit Saint Lucia has won the North West regional Royal Television Society (RTS) Award for Best Pre-School Children’s Programme!
The ground-breaking animated pre-school series JoJo & Gran Gran is produced for CBeebies by BBC Studios Kids & Family Productions in Salford, in association with our team at A Productions and inspired by characters created by Laura Henry-Allain MBE.
Since its debut in 2020, this heart-warming series has picked up several major gongs including a Broadcast Award, a Kidscreen Award and a BAFTA.
Katherine McQueen, our joint managing director at A Productions said: “Having recently celebrated the completion of series 2 and 3 of JoJo and Gran Gran, this award is a tribute to the fantastic team both here and at the BBC who’ve worked so hard to bring this wonderful series to our screens.
