Our creative (who is, ironically a monochrome dresser) has been diving into the vibrant world of colour theory recently 🌈 Exploring how brands use colours in their logos to evoke emotions, create identity, and leave a lasting impression.

Different colours have different psychological effects on our brains. Take green - often used by food brands (hello Wholefoods & Tropicana) to help communicate natural and healthy💚 Bolder, more vibrant colours such as red and orange come across as passionate, exciting and energetic. Just like Coca-Cola, Lego etc. ❤️

And then there’s those that don’t experiment with much colour at all, the fifty shades of grey kinda brands. To name a few: Apple, Mercedes, Nike, WWF, Chanel. All very different industries but all use simple monochrome colours in order to remain timeless, elegant and professional. 🖤

Our first reference book of 2024 is brought to you by Becky, one of our talented creatives 🌸

Hi there! At Aspect I focus on all things creative ideation and directing however, I also dabble in the world of graphic design & photography, here is just a taste of some of the work that inspires me on the daily 🎨

1. When is comes to directing, each director has a unique way of working. I find it really useful to read about what gets other writers / directors into their creative flow! Just like the book by where the writers of the BBC hit show go on to explain where they get some of their inspiration and ideas from when they created such a unique, humorous series.

2. Designing and creating logos is also a past time of mine, which keeps my creativity high. I particularly enjoy the work by a female graphic designer who makes VERY aesthetically pleasing designs.

3. And finally, I am trying to become a better photographer and have found my love of all things photography has come back. I have always been inspired by the work of the late Vivian Maier. An American street photographer who always captured the beauty of life on the move.

1️⃣ ‘Simple, effective and pleasing to the eye’ strategist shared this campaign by McDonald’s that oozes clarity🔍(We really want a milkshake now)

2️⃣ One of our Creatives shared this great bit of design work from @ Monzo. ‘I’ve always loved their visual identity, and I think branding themselves as the company with the ‘hot coral card’ is a great way to be up the memorability. Brand codes!
