If you know you know… French high-end rotary mixer E&S DJR-400. Came in with a non-working LED indicator light and missing its power supply. Took a bit of effort to work out how it’s all assembled (remove top and bottom screws, all the k***s and nuts on top then it peels away.) Replaced a Jamicon cap with a far nicer Panasonic FC, changed the LED, improved the soldering, fixed the contacts in the RCA jacks and gave the PCB an isopropyl clean. Since the PSU wasn’t with the unit we paired it up with our own for testing. Our power supply is a proper chunky beast well deserving of this £4K mixer. Ours has a thermal fuse built in, external enclosure and gold plated Neutrik DIN connector.

Ecler Nuo 2.0, I bought this broken unit a while back. It’s a nice two channel mixer which had the option to upgrade to the revered Eternal Fader. This one had intermittent audio on Channel 1, the culprit? A worn channel fader and a dirty input select switch. Whilst the faders are easy to swap out, getting the main board out is a bit more of a struggle with all the electronics inside. I swapped both input faders with our own FADSTD100K faders and disassembled all the input switches to get it back to new.

Another beautiful Vestax PMC-270A which went out not so long back. It was converted to rotary after purchasing and also switched from 230v to 115v. When this came in it was absolutely atrocious, it was covered in dried up grease, had stickers all over it and the faders were literally hanging off the plates. We had to completely tear it apart down to the chassis. Each switch (of which there are many) were desoldered, disassembled and cleaned. Brand new ALPS line faders were installed, RCA terminals replaced, crossfader changed to one of our CF-20 replacements and missing parts and new screws were installed. You can’t see it in the photos but I also put a new voltage sticker on the back to avoid confusion.

This Vestax PMC-06’s faders felt like they were lubricated with treacle and were impossible to move. It had sat unused for years after it was purchased with some Technics. Finished a service on it which included: complete disassembly, washed the chassis, k***s, faceplates. Re-conditioned the front fader, serviced the two channel faders and the Pro-X-Fade CF. Dismantled the toggle switches, re-soldered all the weak joints, upgraded the PSU caps, new faceplate screws, headphone jack hardware and also found a factory manufacturing fault which I was able to fix. It’s back to life and more importantly going to be used again.

Recent service for this Rane TTM-56 with a very fetching gold faceplate. It worked but needed a bit of a spruce up, the power cable clip had snapped off and was glued into the socket. The front headphone jack was threaded and the faders needed cleaning and lubrication. When it arrived I also found out their cat had nibbled through the power cable. After a service everything is absolutely perfect again. To finish it off I also replaced the faceplate screws with our replacements.

Just can’t seem to get enough of these Vestax PDX-3000 turntables, this one was reserved before it arrived. Purchased as non-working, its problem? A piece of fluff that had worked its way in between the power switch contacts preventing continuity. I changed the voltage configuration from 100v to 230v and after the usual service it’ll be on its way up to Scotland after its 13,000 mile journey.

Quick repair for this very nice ARS 9100B. Someone had disconnected the mixer to move it, residual power was stored in the external PSU which when reconnected shortly afterwards blew a 7918 voltage regulator inside the mixer.

On its way to a new owner is this brilliant Vestax PDX-3000 turntable with MIDI. As with everything we sell it had a complete service prior to sale. This included, all new ALPS tact switches, new LED mains switch, power cable, ultra pitch and our own pitch fader assembly. The electronics were checked and any weak solder joints were reflowed. The previous owner had changed the tonearm so we reverted it back to the correct stock and also included a PDX-3000 slipmat to complete the look.

Coming up for sale soon is this beautiful pair of Vestax FDG-1 3 band isolators. A great accompaniment to mixers such as the PMC-50, PMC-55 etc. Waiting on some new ALPS pots to complete the service before they go on the store, complete with our DC-15 PSUs.
