Music should always be about collaboration, co-operation and community. We never create music in isolation, and the same is true of everything else we create – whether that’s a course like Free Your Voice, a coaching business or an entire vocal studio!

Singers and vocalists: When you use a microphone, are you getting the most out of it?

If you’d love to be able to set up your own microphone with confidence, and apply the right mic technique for your voice and artistic vision, then join us at our upcoming workshop: Introduction to Microphone Technique for Vocalists.

Sound Engineer and Producer Calin Olari and Vocal Coach Lise Huber from Sound Your Voice will guide you through a hands-on exploration of a range of microphones. You’ll learn how your voice sounds through different mics and hear the difference when you use different approaches, so you can work out the best mic strategies for you.

You will learn:

*How to choose the right microphone for the tone and style you want to achieve, and the environment you’re performing in.

*How to set up your microphone to avoid unwanted clipping, distortion and noise, and achieve a clean sound.

*How your distance from the microphone and angle affect the tone, and how to avoid the problems that might occur if you’re not well positioned.

Dates: Saturday 26th Nov and Saturday 3rd Dec, from 12 – 4 p.m
