We all have goals, right? But let’s get real – they can take a lot of work, and sometimes a person gets sidetracked or distracted by… well… literally anything. 😬
Maybe you can relate?
My personal slackfest involves completing a training course I invested a lot into. 🤦♀️
What’s the holdup?
Well, the January blues have definitely hit lately, and I’ve not had the headspace. Plus, it can be hard to prioritise learning when ‘actual’ paid work needs doing. It’s now become a vicious cycle of re-adding it to my to-do list each week and feeling fed up about the lack of progress.
So now what?
I need to schedule in the time for getting it done if I’m ever going to actually do it. And if I need to de-prioritise a few other things in the meantime, I know it will be worth it in the long run once I’ve gotten this off my plate!
So, what are some of the big goals you’ve been catching yourself slacking on lately? What’s holding you back?
And remember: if your goals have gotten off track, you can get your focus back at any time.
Decide to start right now.
There’s no time like the present! 💜
Are you making any of these mistakes? I see it all the time. Get out of the Groundhog Day loop and finally stop. 👇
Watch to see some of the most common mistakes product=based businesses make on social media.
If you've ever done either of those before, trust me... you're not alone!
And now you know them, you can avoid them moving forward. 🙌
Want to avoid being too formal and robotic in your content? I can help with that...
The first step to growing your social accounts is highlighting where you're going wrong.
My Marketing Audit is tailor-made for just that!

As we head into a new month, now is the perfect opportunity to take stock, focus our energy and strive to be a better version of ourselves.
Focusing on what’s most important can be one of the most important things you do.
By focusing on your energy and resources you’re more likely to hit your goals.
Without focus, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by all the distractions in life, but focus helps us determine what’s truly worth our effort.
Take a moment to reflect on your goals today and think about how you can focus every day to help you stay motivated.
Here’s a few things you should try to prioritise right now:
✨ Refresh your digital workspace by clearing out the old to focus on what’s new
👏 Establish your boundaries to ensure your time and energy are spent in the most productive place possible
💜 Remember to make time for your health and wellbeing - so you avoid burnout!
✅ Update your bio to ensure all of your marketing channels make it clear exactly what you do or sell
And then that last pesky task that slips from so many people’s minds - update your website footer!
Give yourself permission to focus on the present.
What are you focusing on right now?
You DON’T need to post every day on social media. And you really don’t need to be working every day as a business owner.
That’s just a one way to ticket burnout, my friend.
But while you don’t need to post on the weekend, you DO need to post consistently when your target audience is most likely to see it. 👀
So, while you, as a business owner, may not be scrolling on social media on the weekend, your audience might be.
So you’re less likely to reach them if you’re not posting at those times.
But you probably don’t want to be posting content on the weekend – few people do.
Well, you don’t have to!
Instead, use one of the many scheduling tools available to you - for example, I used Meta Business Suite to schedule this to go out to on Instagram and Facebook & I used the native LinkedIn scheduling tool, too.
You can also use a free or inexpensive tool, like Buffer or Metricool, to schedule your content all in one place.
👍 Hit the like button if you’re taking the weekend off.
If you don’t, let me know what’s holding you back.
You may have noticed a lot of changes over on Instaram lately - from the new grid to highlights moving to the tabs, Instagram can feel impossible to keep up with.
Which is why you shouldn't try!
As business owners (or non-marketing specialists), don't try and keep on top of the ins and outs of social media – you'll just drive yourself mad. 😅
That's what the experts like me are for.
We can tell you what's important to worry about and what's another fad. And we can prepare you for any changes coming up by staying in the know.
I've been posting ready for the portrait grid for over a year now. I have advised my clients and only created content that would fit the change.
Because it's my job to know what's coming and prepare you for it.
But ultimately, the sizing of things etc, shouldn't be the end of the world for you and your brand.
Sure, it's annoying if you've planned a perfectly aesthetic grid – but that's not a good strategy anyway!
Focus on one thing: Sharing good quality content that speaks to your audience and engaging with them regularly.
You may have noticed a lot of changes over on Instagram lately - from the new grid to highlights moving to the tabs, Instagram can feel impossible to keep up with.
Oof, don't ignore this! 🤦♀️ If there's one thing you should be doing in your marketing right now, it's this. Thank me later. 💅
You've made a great post and it did well – fantastic!
The work hasn't quite finished. ⏪
You now know your audience responds well to this content, so use that by taking that post and repurposing it into something 'new'.
If you posted a reel on a certain topic, turn this into a 'carousel' (words on a graphic that people can swipe through), or re-do it in a different style.
And if your post bombed?
Review why that may have happened and try it again in a new format just the same.
You've already put the time and thought into content – milk it for all it's worth!
Save yourself the time and headache, and don't reinvent the wheel each time you post.
💜 Like this post if you found it helpful!
🎤 REPEAT AFTER ME...
Posting stand alone content isn’t going to make you sales.
Sending random posts into the social media ether isn’t a long-term strategy.
Without a content plan, your social media won’t help you reach your goals, e.g. make money!
🛑 Stop leaving posting on your socials until the last minute and instead think of it as a CAMPAIGN.
Your posts should form a part of a larger whole, all working together cohesively.
If you want to get off the content creation hamster wheel this year, message me the word CAMPAIGN to learn more about my affordable content creation services that are part of a wider campaign and designed to make you sales.
Before we dive back into work in this new year, it’s a great time to intentionally move forward with a key goal in mind.
One popular way to do that in recent years is with a word or phrase that you can come back to – if anything comes up throughout the year that goes against your word, then it can prompt a rethink.
My word for 2025? ✨ Balance ✨
Why? I want to regain a feeling of control over my work/life balance and find a greater sense of calm.
Last year’s word ‘Open’ brought a wealth of new opportunities and growth into my life - both personally and professionally - which I’m very grateful for.
But now I want to dedicate this year to recentring and going back to basics to prioritise my mental health and overall wellbeing.
What about you? What word or phrase are you bringing into 2025 with you?
The lost week between Christmas and New Year’s is my favourite time as an entrepreneur!
We hustled. We bustled. We holly-ed and jolly-ed.
And now… we rest!
But this time on pause is also a great time to reflect on how the year has gone – and what we want the year ahead to look like.
I’ve come to a few realisations that I want to share a few things I want to leave behind in 2024.
🙅♀️ I need to stop overcommitting myself and be more thoughtful with my time.
🙅♀️ I need to prioritise my own business just as much as I do my clients’
🙅♀️ And I need to accept that not everything can get done in a day and let go of what could have been.
By consciously deciding what we’re not going to do, we make mental room for the things that truly matter.
Here’s to making room for the wonderful things set to come our way in 2025!
What are you leaving behind in 2024? Hit reply and let me know!
Having a goal is not enough.
Just having a goal will not stop you from quitting.
It won’t push you when things get hard.
You have to have a why - and it has to be a strong enough WHY...
Get real with why you want your goals to happen.
Connect them to what really matters to you.
If you are having trouble with your why… try asking yourself why 5 times.
For example, I want to make more money.
Why?
So I can pay the bills and have some extra spending money,
Why?
So I feel safe and less stressed.
Why?
So I can lead a life of calm and security.
This helps get past the surface and dig into your strong WHY that will keep you going when things get hard - because they will!
Here is my why: For a life of freedom. If a career or business decision doesn’t ultimately lead to more time and freedom, then it’s a “NO”.
What is your WHY?
You know it’s Christmas when you dig out your Christmas jumper and it makes your day!
Happy #ChristmasJumperDay to all who celebrate! 😁🎄 👕
Now for the bigger question – is it time to get the Christmas decorationss up?!
Do you sell products? These are the 3 not-very-obvious mistakes you're making with your marketing.
Are you trundling along the content hamster wheel, putting posts out and calling it a day? 🤦♀️
There's so much more you could be doing with your marketing – and it doesn't need to take any more time or energy either!
Fix these issues and save yourself a whole bundle of stress:
1️⃣ Creating content when you're 'inspired' 😬
If you're waiting for a burst of inspiration to create the most creative content ever, then you're setting yourself up to fail.
A perfect post is never going to just pop into your head on a whim and relying on this leads to inconsistent marketing.
That doesn't mean you can't capture ideas when they strike!
Add them to a content ideas bank that you can go to when you regularly plan out your content.
Instead:
Be consistent in your content creation habits. Consistency breeds creativity.
2️⃣ Not having a reason to post 🤔
Your marketing should align with your business goals. For your content to help you reach those goals, each post needs a purpose.
You could be publishing blogs, emails, and videos all day, every day, but unless they are created with an objective in mind, you won't see results.
Instead:
Build your marketing strategy and content plan around your wider business goals.
Then, consider what your goal is when creating content. And stick to the plan!
3️⃣ Not pushing your content out fully 🫣
Do you spend ages on a great Instagram post, hit publish, and move on to the next?
You're missing out – keep sharing that content over and over!
Don't worry about bombarding your audience or annoying them.
Thanks to the almighty algorithm, only a small fraction of your audience would have seen that post.
So don't let it go to waste – keep sharing it far and wide to increase its impact and boost your ROI.
And for really great content, don't rely solely on organic traffic – consider paid promotion, too.
