Puffins, Kittiwakes, Razorbills and other threatened seabirds have been thrown a lifeline, after decades of campaigning have finally succeeded in stopping industrial sand eel fishing in the English North Sea and in all Scottish waters. Sand eels are critical food source for seals as well.

‘As a mother... her instinct kicked in’ 🐙
Sheree Marris found a plastic pipe washed up on the sand. To her surprise, an octopus was inside, and had laid eggs.
She watched as the Octopus mother tried to push the pipe back into the water, desperately trying to save her eggs from drying out. ☀️
Sheree knew she had to help. She fashioned a weight for the pipe out of an old brick and some rope and took the creature and her home out into deeper water. Day after day Sheree swam to the pipe to make sure the it was still in place. @shereemarris

A lone ranger, Digit appears not to socialise with other squirrels, making it extra special when Dani catches a glimpse of her most elusive furry friend.

Dani is a British Wildlife Photographer, who has made friends with a group of red squirrels living in a forest in Northern Sweden. The friendship bond is so strong that Dani has bought a house in the Swedish forest to live there part of the year.

Theresa and Scruff have looked after hundreds of joeys, releasing them after 18 months once they can fend for themselves.
Max came to them as an injured joey, but despite rehabilitating him and repeated attempts to release him, he always chooses to come back 🏠
Theresa and Scruff continue to embrace him as part of the family, for as long as he decides to stay 🦘 @ourhavenwildlifeshelter
