From co-founders Mel and James meeting up in cafés, to our first office at WRAP and our third at Runway East! We love looking back at how far we've come and can't wait to see what the future holds. 😊
The secret to captivating your audience in 2024? 👇
Social media is becoming increasingly video-focused, and it can be hard to get it right. Here are some of our tips for making your video content effective and engaging! 💥
📱 A smartphone has everything you need to create simple video content for social media; you don't need fancy equipment.
🌇 Film in a quiet location, close windows, and turn off noisy devices. Shelter or avoid wind when filming outside, as it can be difficult to remove from audio later.
🖥️ Portrait or landscape? It depends on where you want to share the video. TikTok/Instagram Reels - portrait. Multiple platforms - landscape with enough space to crop. It's that simple.
🤳 Holding the phone steady while shooting a video, even if it is short, can be challenging. It's hard to get a good angle and avoid shaking. It's better to use a tripod or ask someone to hold the camera for you. By doing so, you can also use the back camera, which has a higher resolution than the front camera.
Note: When vlogging, holding the phone may feel more intimate, but it's not always great for quality and accessibility. Propping up your device or using a tripod is recommended, but ultimately it depends on your style and audience.

Did you know it's World Emoji Day today? It's also Disability Pride Month, so let's talk about why using too many emojis in your posts can be inaccessible. Every emoji basically has alt text, so when a screen reader sees an emoji it’ll read out that text, for instance 😸 is translated as “Grinning Cat Face With Smiling Eyes”; use it more than once and it’ll be repeated, that’s just annoying! While emojis are great for telling universally understood visual stories and creating interest, you need to use them sparingly so people using screen readers can appreciate your content. Remember that good communication should be simple, too. The more emojis you use, the more it can complicate your message. And in this fast-paced social world, you don't want to overcomplicate things, or people will scroll on by! An emotional start to Q2 2023 🥹 We've moved out of our first ever office and got a little upgrade - we're still in WRAP but need more space for exciting developments this month. Watch this space for more!
In 2022 we were proud to support the Royal College of Occupational Therapists with the launch of their new strategy and rebrand in January. Later in the year their Annual Conference and Occupational Therapy Week saw record breaking reach, and we were ecstatic to report an increase in engagements on social media by 305% and increase in website traffic from social media by 86%. In 2023 we're looking forward to continuing to support them on their mission to ensure people everywhere value the life-changing power of occupational therapy. Taking all the apps off of her phone, and enjoying seeing new places. We believe taking a break from social media is important, especially when it's your job.

A debate we'll have to leave open, for the sanity of our captains! 🪓 We then went off axe throwing (no swashbuckling' for these pirates) at Hatchet Harrys Axe Throwing Brighton to brush up on our aim and some healthy competition. 😋 And finally, we finished thee day with some good grub and a drink or two at Lazy Fin.
