Our own Katie PPU is back, following some time out travelling in Nepal. Katie used to co-present the ‘What’s Wrong With Grooving Show’, but has now taken the jump with her own show. Focusing on East Coast inspired hip hip and heavy breaks, plus a smattering of soul, jazz and funk.

3. The Soulful Side w/ Lana G 14:00-16:00

Lana G is a DJ from Zagreb, Croatia, with a passion for Soulful and Afro House music, although Lana’s musical youth was inspired by reggae, roots, and dancehall, Lana’s love for clubbing and dancing inspired her 4/4 leanings. Lana found her love of radio through a weekly on Radio808, a local station in Zagreb, where she combined her two passions – music and psychology. As a psychologist and aspiring psychotherapist, Lana aimed to promote mental health and discuss psychological topics while sharing soulful and afro music.Lana went on to found a collective called Soulectors, dedicated to organizing events and building the Soulful and Afro House scene in her hometown. like Soul, Funk, and Disco.
Lana’s recent performances include the world-renowned BBE Record Store in London, as well as shows in other UK cities such as Hastings and Birmingham. In her hometown, you can catch her spinning at popular Zagreb venues like Funk Club, Peti Kupe, Masters, and Aquarius.

It’s been a busy couple of years for Manchester’s Joey T, with momentum picking up speed following releases on Mas O Menos, Sprechen and more recently, Tee Mango’s SUPERUNKNOWN imprint, catching support from the likes of Bill Brewster, Tim Sweeney and Mixmag.
Outside the studio walls, locking-in some regular appearances for Luke Una’s É Soul Cultura, alongside selectors such as Maurice Fulton, Paula Tape, Sean
Johnston, David Holmes and Luke Una himself, including a debut appearance at The Warehouse Project and the legendary Pikes in Ibiza.
Joey’s endlessly expanding record bag continues to add ambient soundscape textures, spacious dub excursions, deep electronic soul shards, off-kilter mutant disco, and high-end dancefloor-tuned vibrations. 🔥

From midday today 1BTN host a 12 hour marathon of music, dedicated to one of the pioneers of the UK underground music scene. Make no mistake, Ashley Beedle, is up there with the greats of clubland and he stands shoulder to shoulder, with any and alll of the founding fathers of dance music culture. Spanning a career of 35 years or so, Ashley has never been anything other than prolific, touching every corner of the globe with his incredible productions. A true legend of the game.

We all owe Ashley a debt for the gifts he's blessed us with over time and now he needs our help. Ashley has suffered with serious health issues over the last 5 years and last year he suffered a stroke, which has left him needing round the clock care moving forward. 1BTN listeners, hope this finds you well.

In the early hours of Monday morning there was an outage on the Open Reach networks, which disabled our radio service. Despite regular calls to Talk Talk and promises of a quick resolve, we still find ourselves no further forwards. This is extremely frustrating but it's also sadly out of our hands. We are on day 4 now and we appreciate that this is as frustrating for our listeners and wider community, as it it is for us. We are told that the problem is affecting over 50 buldings, within the vacinity.

We will try again tomorrow and report back with an update, as soon as we hear more. Sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. Please bear with us.
