Everyday Saints are a self proclaimed occult-pop 5-piece based in Brighton. The meeting of upbeat indie pop, and witch-of-the-woods occultist fervour. Expect antlers, wedding dresses, jangle guitar, dance bass, and two women ignoring both you and their instruments to sing adoringly to one another.

performs three songs and then joins us in the light room to tell some tales of how he got here and where to next.
Jamie is a multi-disciplinary artist, based in Brighton, working across multiple genres and different art forms. Some days he is poet, some days a painter, sometimes he sings behind an acoustic guitar, and othertimes he recoils from acoustic instruments and sits behind a drum machine and synthesiser. Inspired by the diversity and intrigue of the world around him, Jamie spends his time chasing and executing ideas. He is fascinated by the meaning behind moments and the aura of the abstract.

joins us to perform three tracks and tell her story, she believes music and songwriting to be the most helpful tools in healthily channelling difficult emotions, and hopes to inspire others to do the same using whatever medium of art appeals to them.

Tash Breeze is a Soul / R&B vocalist based in London after some time spent in Brighton. Classically trained in violin, plays piano and guitar, and studied vocals at university level. She has performed in a wide variety of venues all over the UK and Australia. Her soulful vocals and approach to writing is emotive and thought provoking.
Over the past few years, Tash has been performing in community healthcare settings, focusing on Dementia and disability care. She has worked with organisations in Uganda and the UK, facilitating music classes and therapy sessions with young adults and children. Tash is now focusing on her own artist development and is currently collaborating with ‘Third Bloom’, giving her the opportunity to experiment with new melodic ideas without restraint.

Tash Breeze released her first track ‘Healing’ on September 19th and her debut EP ‘Reality’ 30th October which is a collaboration with producer Cash Green. ‘Reality’ was featured on BBC Introducing and listeners can expect more projects including Hip-Hop collaborations with Jack Chi and Producer and rapper Marman

Members of the band treated us to an hour of free flowing conversation with readings from their book, anecdotes and jokes from their turbulent and fairly short career as a the leading riot grrrl group from 1991-1994. They break up the chitchat with 7” records on the turntable and end with a very special stripped back live session

The Slack team were up in Manchester again this weekend and we had such a great time connecting with our Slack City MCR correspondents, John Robb and Jay Taylor, who alongside Brighton promoter Anna Moulson of Melting Vinyl and AIP were involved in the Un-Convention panel discussions. We were treated to a live performance by Immersion (Colin and Malka - Swimming in Sound) at SOUP to finish of a fantastic few days. A pleasure to meet everyone at the conference and the show, and were very much looking forward to more trips to the city. This week we have two brilliant shows coming in hot from Nick Roseblade.
First up tonight’s monthly edition of Cascade Thunders Mixtape, a mixtape genuinely mixed onto tape via a c90 cassette, painstakingly put together and then streamed live on radio for your warm and hissy listening pleasure!

On Friday Nick returns with his Keep Slack Album Club from 8-10PM this time featuring a very special guest who will be talking about how he came to work closely with 21st century popstar and then moving on to his own work and brand new album No Sound In Space which is due for release that day, on Friday 15th November!

“Since 2011, Blake has been most known for being the guitarist and a music director for Lana Del Rey, notching up three songwriting credits on her acclaimed ‘Ultraviolence’ full length. He sees his solo work as a form of escapism, a place where he can experiment and find comfort and catharsis outside of expectations and formal structure. The album was written instinctively, and Blake made sure he didn’t force anything, letting go and getting out of his own way, listening intently as sounds and textures materialized organically. “I didn’t want to ruin it by being a perfectionist,” he laughs. And his collaboration with Kenyan sound artist KMRU, who runs the OFNOT label and contributes to two of the tracks on the album, occurred similarly organically.”
