[The mission] 🧡 South Lanes Studios has a mission to support striving independent artists and producers who aim to create a sustainable career within the music industry, from grassroots to breakthrough. Their central studio complex focuses on the development of the artist, supported by an experienced team of professionals who all play their part in the end goal.

The studio refreshes the approach to a traditional studio complex with its Artist Development focus. Supporting the artist’s journey, increasing accessibility to creative safe spaces and enabling equal opportunities is at the core of what they do best.

The muchly anticipated baby upright in Studio 1 has arrived! It will be tuned within 4 weeks once it’s settled, and it will be ready for all your rehearsal and recording needs 🤩

As 2024 draws to a close, it’s a perfect time to thank you for supporting our independent studio. 🩵

Both our artists and producers saw many achievements this year, from debut releases, to label signings, sync placements and so much more!

Our studio being recognised by Association of Independent Music awarded Music Entrepreneur of the Year spurs us on to continue our efforts to increase opportunities for independent artists, from grassroots and beyond.

2025 will be a big year — we’re sure. See you on the other side 🎆

New Week. New Music | ‘Inner Turmoil’ by Sam Tomlins 🎸💿

Sam Tomlins is an artist from the north, drawing inspiration from London jazz artists such as Oscar Jerome, Yussef Dayes, Tom Misch and Jamiroquai. His music is characterised by bouncy rhythms, smooth breakdowns and consistent evolution. Your notice this release-to-release as he breaks boundaries of sound with experimentation.

Inner Turmoil combines garage drums with jazz informed harmony. Sam Tomlins’ second EP is his most intimate to date which delves into interpersonal relationships, mental health struggles, lust and growth.

Sam says, “Meg has been such an asset throughout the writing, recording and marketing process of this EP. Her broad knowledge has guided me every step of the way and I wouldn’t have achieved what I have without her.”
