Ever since my first sit on Enzo I knew his hind end would catch me out sooner or later and I’m sure it will again In the future but what I’m so so pleased about is that it didn’t/and hasn’t remotely phased me.
Makes me feel proud of how far I’ve come as past Tina would have had a complete melt down and hige confidence blip after any sort of fall, let alone a rather flamboyant one like that!! But we dusted ourselves off, quite literally, refitted the hat silk and jumped straight back on and continued the lesson which ended on a huge high!!
As it’s National Hat Day (which, I’ll admit, I didn’t know was a thing!), I felt it was important to share my gratitude to @championequestrian for their incredible support with safety wear over the past eight years. Their dedication has ensured that I’ve been equipped with the best safety gear—not just helmets but body protectors as well.
After a recent fall, I didn’t suffer a single ache or pain, which I know was partly due to luck but also thanks to wearing properly fitted, high-standard safety equipment. In a sport like this, I can’t stress enough how essential it is to invest in correctly fitting gear. I’m often asked what type of helmet I recommend, and my answer is always the same: the one that fits your head perfectly. Professional fitting—whether for a jockey skull or a fixed-peak helmet—is absolutely crucial because, at the end of the day, you only get one head.

Safe to say he’s feeling WELL!! And was elated to be jumping a whopping 40cm today!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday we went to our First Ever BD Competition ~ And although I was feeling rather underprepared and tried to find every excuse under the sun not to go, I’m glad I did.
I didn’t vlog the day but I did enjoy capturing and editing our speeding preparations in a tack up and ride we me styllleeeee *show day edition* mini vlog ~ captured on my @insta360 GO3S 🎥

Enzo was a sweetheart and was very obliging and willing in both tests but we did struggle a little with the canter work, especially in the 2nd tests
That said I need to ensure I focus on the positives and I just feel so so fortunate to have found a horse that is so easy to handle and take to shows all by myself and do everything with and to without any assistance….
Although watch to the end and see my little fairy godmother @inthesaddlesusie surprised me by turning up just in time to ensure I didn’t have to mount solo 🥹 Shes such a babe 🥰
PS Did you know plating isn’t actually in the rule book for BD… I always just assumed it was!! And as much as I know it’s etiquette to look smart and present yourself and your horse well. I also know that spending an hour stressed by Enzo’s side after very minal sleep was not going to benefit either of us or his way of going. So a couple hours in the field prior to getting ready to leave was far more beneficial to him rather then keeping him in to keep him clean!!

Honestly did not think I would get out of walk when driving up to film this yesterday… thought I might get a few strides of bouncy useless, get me back to walk pls, trot!!
But I blinking did it and if this hasn’t reiterated to me how much my confidence, self belief and ability had grown…. then I don’t know what will!!
