Christmas Tree Donations

This week we donated Christmas trees to over 10 local schools and organisations, including St Johns catholic primary school, St Leonards primary school and the Bridgnorth minor injuries unit at the community hospital. Throughout the years the Estate had made ongoing contributions to the Community of Bridgnorth and the surrounding local areas, and we intend to perpetuate this in order to continue working to the core values that are at the heart of all we do here at Apley.

Harper Adams Land Management Society Dinner

Apley Estate was proud to sponsor the recent Harper Adams Land management Society Dinner. The Society was started in 2017 aimed at those studying land and property management degrees. The club runs an annual dinner as well events run alongside the RICS to benefit its membership.
This year the club had chosen to raise money for Len’s Light set up by Lynda and Andy Eadon following the tragic loss of their son Len to Su***de. Len’s Light looks to create a national awareness campaign on the mental health issues that affect people in the rural community. The club raised a fantastic £2,000 towards this great cause.
More information on this fantastic campaign can be seen below:

In October we had the pleasure of showing Shropshire Magazine around Ewdness House, the published article from which was published in October. Work is now underway on Ewdness House and we can't wait to restore the beautiful farmhouse to its former glory and return it to use.

Apley Farm Shop will be holding their first Fireworks and Bonfire evening on Saturday 29th October, from 5pm until 9pm.
We're working with the RAF Cadets to ensure the guests attending this event are moved off the A442 (Norton) and parked as quickly as possible. The Fireworks are due to fire at 7pm, and the event will end at 9pm. Tickets for this event are sold out and there will be no further tickets available on the gate.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

We're continuing our support of registered charity Help Ukraine Telford (and surrounding areas) by donating the use of our property on Bridgnorth High Street (formerly the Brasserie) initially until Christmas.

The charity supports people both in the Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees here in Shropshire.
Lynn Cooper, the founder of the charity, intends to sell the donations that can't be sent to Ukraine (like Bath bombs and clothes ) to raise funds to buy what they do need.

"The shop has been given to us by the wonderful people at Apley Estate. We started as a small number of people on a page who just wanted to help the Ukrainian people both here in Shropshire and over in the most rural places in Ukraine. We have sent five vans over so far, filled with food, toiletries, baby milk and food, nappies and baby goods and also medical equipment. They don't need clothes, they need food and clean water. So water purification tablets are also very important. We are a community interest charity. We also help the refugees who arrive in Shropshire. Helping them settle into the area, schools and Dr's, benefits and jobs, and eventually housing. In the shop we will be accepting donations (not clothes please) to send over and selling whatever we can in order to purchase essentials to send to these poor people. Imagine babies with no clean water to make baby milk, mothers using river water, women with no sanitary products each month, old folks who are struggling daily. I just feel that if you can help ease another person's suffering in any way then we should try our best. I know time's are tough but at least we are safe, warm and not hungry and these people are not. I know that Shropshire people are kind and I hope they will be able to help us in some small way. A tin of soup, a bag of pasta, nappies (both adult and baby) and medicine. Anything is gratefully received."

Last week we visited our allotments in Bridgnorth to see how the growers are striving to achieve sustainability across the site. When we visited, Martin Preece and Martin Roper were on hand to show us around and explain more about harvesting rainwater, using solar panels and keeping the allotments accessible to everyone.
