Our lovely Breakfast & After School Club risks closure if we are not able to get through this tough time we are currently facing financially. We are grateful for any help, support, donation or ideas for raising funds. We hope we can continue providing wraparound childcare for many years to come, so that the working parents in our community can continue to thrive in their careers whilst their children are in a safe and warm environment in our care. Just wanted to reach out into the community and ask if anyone has an old unused iPad they could possibly donate to the Bardfield Breakfast & Afterschool Club. Ours has unfortunately been dropped and no longer works😔one that will let us download games & apps for our children to use. Thank you 🫶

NEW 4.15 Pick Up to tie in with Premier Sports clubs

From September if any of your children are attending an after school Premier Sport club, we can take any siblings not attending, from their classroom to our fun After School Club until 4.15 and for those already booked in until 4pm, we can now extend this to 4.15, to allow you to do less waiting around and one pick up. They will be offered a snack on arrival.

This is only offered however on a full half term, so we can plan with staff ratios and timetables.

The costs per afternoon are £9 until 4pm and £10 until 4.15pm.

If you have not yet used our facilities, then please pop by where we will give you a registration form.

For more information or any questions, please call 01371 811580 between 7.30-8.30 am or 3-6pm, Monday – Fridays and don’t forget to follow us on Facebook for updates too – search for ‘Bardfield After School Club’. Think puzzles, PC Games, craft, dress up, TV, books, Lego and we can feed them too!

We still have places for Breakfast and After School Club starting in September. These are half termly bookings and we accept Childcare Vouchers. Call our friendly team discuss your requirements.

Can you help us with your unneeded outdoor toys pls for our Breakfast and After School children?

We would love a children’s garage and any children trikes for our younger children 5+, as long as not too shabby!

We are always in our building, behind the school 3.30 - 5.30 or can try and collect?

Local Job.

Relief staff needed for ASC AND BREAKFAST CLUB based in school grounds.

Possible 3-4 weeks in June at our breakfast club, can job share if prefer.
This is to cook the breakfast
7.30-8.45.

You can bring your own child with you (they will need to be in our play room which is great for making friends).

Call 01371 811580 for more details, no child care qualifications needed for the kitchen job and we will offer in-house training if you also do relief at our afternoon After School Club.

Firstly – A Very Happy New Year and we hope everyone kept as safe as possible.

Well, what a return to school it has been. Unfortunately, Covid continues to claim victims and staff alike.

Unfortunately, our own limited group of brilliant staff isn’t immune to catching Covid, so on rare occasions we won’t be able to keep the club open.

We do not want to ever have to close the Club with such short notice, but please understand that we follow strict OFSTED rules and if staffing ratios cannot be met due to absences; Covid, Health check Ups, Holidays - we will have to close and you will be contacted, as soon as we know.

Our apologies for having to close Breakfast Club this week, but we did not have the staff ratio covered, due to Covid. All of you should have received a Breakfast Club text/note saying that we are hoping to open mornings again from next week (assume we are) - but Pat will text you if this changes.

Naturally you will not be charged if we decide we have to close the Club and this can be turned into credits for the following half term or a refund – let us know which you prefer.

Normally, as our rules state, we do not offer credits for cancelled days however;
If your child is off ill due to Covid, we now define this as an exceptional circumstance and we will offer them and any isolating siblings:
Your full amount of absent sessions due to Covid are available to catch up at no extra cost, between now and 11th Feb, end of Half Term. Just tell us when you would like.

Finances are important for all sides and as a Charity, we have been in a very unenviable position since the Pandemic started, with no grants, a large reduction in children needing childcare (parents home working) and Furlough has not been offered again yet for this next wave to pay staff.

Thanks for your understanding. We love your children and working at our Club but have to make sure it is safe for all of us. As an aside, should anyone want to come onto our rota for paid work when things are more consistent again, a few hours here and there when needed – pls let us know. We can tell you what is involved and what to do.

Please be aware that we have some spaces available for your children for this half term ( block bookings only).

We are also looking for relief staff for our breakfast club 7.30-8.45, pls send us a message if you are interested.

If you shop at the Coop please make sure that you have nominated our charity as we receive a % of everything and so far we are only up to £9 and we would like to buy some new furniture.

The Co-op Local Community Fund is supporting BASC - Bardfield After School Club. Become a member or sign in to choose a local cause to support.

From September - Breakfast Club will have 2 drop offs, rather than one, but you must adhere to these set times please, due to the lower ratio of staff we have working at the moment.

The drop off at 7.30 will include their breakfast at £5.25 per child. There will also be another at 8am (we won’t be serving breakfast at this time) so £3.50 per child. Pls call us if you would like to book.

You will be allowed (unless there are any DFE changes), to bring your child through the front gate and up the side gate to our Club at those 2 set times only, where you will be met at the Club door. The front and side gates will be locked between the 2 pick ups and we will not have the staff to come down and get you.

Please note, that Parents & Guardians will not be allowed to come into the building nor must they go into the school or reception area, as part of both our Risk Assessments.

We will continue to collect children from the end of the school day (or after their school clubs). Pick up Times are 4pm, 5pm, 6pm Mon-Fri. Please note that if you arrive between 3.30-4.15 to pick up, then the side gate will be locked due to the school clubs on the field. Please ring 01371 811580 if the gate is locked and we will bring your child/children down to you. After 4.15 you can pick up from Club at 5pm and 6pm, but not come inside yet.
