🎅 Christmas Guide is here! 🎄

📍 Heath Lake, Crowthorne RG40 3AY (free parking on site). 🚗

Another beautiful Autumnal walk this week at Heath Lake, an area of woodland and heathland in Crowthorne. 🍂

A Site of Special Scientific Interest, the shallow 7 acre lake is the only acid lake in Berkshire, with a naturally low pH supporting several rare plants. 🧪

🐦 There's a path all around the lake, with plenty of opportunities to see all the beautiful swans, ducks and birdlife. 🦆

It can get quite muddy, so wellies and off-road pushchairs are advised in wetter weather. 🥾

Explore the woodland by taking the higher path around the lake. Lots of tall pine trees for a game of hide and seek. 🔍

There are plenty of benches around the lake to take a moment to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. 🪑

🎃 First Days Pumpkin Trail 🎃

🗺️ The First Days Children's Charity Pumpkin trail is back and running until 3rd November. Collect your map from the The Look Out Discovery Centre (suggested donation £3) follow the trail, find the letters that spell out a secret word.

Once you've got the word you can head back to the Look Out to collect your treat! 🍬

🧙‍♀️ Trick or Treat Halloween Afternoon Tea 🫖

🎃 (Ad/PR invite) We've been so looking forward to this event combining Halloween and Afternoon Tea what could be better?! This Halloween Afternoon Tea is spectacular!! The food was yummy (A loved the chocolate ghosts!) and we loved the trail to finish!! The gardens are so lovely even on a grey day! The attention to detail was brillaint! 🍰

🎟 This afternoon tea is running throughout half term until 3rd Nov. And the best bit one free child afternoon tea with each paying adult (£42 per adult)

🌳 Swinley Forest Circular Walk (off New Forest Drive, Winkfield Row) 🌳

We shared this walk last week on Wokingham and quite frankly it is just too stunning not to share on Bracknell this week. This is more of a "Rocks Ramble" as we've got a lovely 5km circular walk brought to you by Julia Morrison Photography - UK. Swipe through her photos to see all the stunning scenery. 🍂

There's so much of the Swinley Forest to explore in our area, Autumn is the perfect time of year to get our walking boots out and try to cover all the different areas! Overall, Swinley Forest covers 2.600 acres and is managed by the Crown Estate. 🍂
During this walk, you'll see pine, oak and beech trees, with the latter soon to display a stunning show of orange and yellow foliage.

The 5km walk takes around 1hr 15mins, so it's more suitable for older children. The middle section through the woods is not passable with a pushchair.
The forest is so vast, it is easier if you download one of the walking apps to guide you. This walk is called the "Green Ridge and Windsor Ride Circular" walk on All Trails. Other apps and walks are available!

There is some parking away from housing at the start of Bowland Drive (RG12 0WA). Please park with respect to local residents. 🚗

The walk follows mainly well-made stone or tarmac forest tracks, so it's quite a good walk to do after wet weather. You will need wellies or walking boots though for the middle section through the woods, which can be muddy in places. 👢

🌳 Lilly Hill Park 🌳

Lily Hill Park in Bracknell is a beautiful green space only half a mile from the hustle and bustle of Bracknell Town Centre.

🚗 Parking is free and there is a large car park on Lily Hill Road (RG12 2RX) and Long Hill Road (RG12 9UE).

🚲 Lily Hill is popular with local families because there is so much to do and plenty to keep the little ones going on the walk! There are many different trails you can do when you get here, most are on clearly maintained paths and would be fine for an off road buggy or balance bike. It’s a little too bumpy for scooters. The main loop around the park is about 4km but there are shorter options for little legs.

There is lots to see at Lily Hill, from carved sculptures such as the Green Man and the Story Telling Throne, the amphitheatre and the balance beam tree! Lily Hill Park is home to the worlds largest picnic bench. You can bring all your friends as this table seats more than 80 people! There are other smaller picnic benches dotted around if you’d rather not share your sandwiches! 🥪

Allsmoor Field

📍 Martins Heron, Bracknell

🌞 This is a lovely park in the summer as it has plenty of shade and lots of space to run free away from roads and traffic.

The park itself has a climbing frame with a bridge and slide. There is also some climbing equipment for older children. There are both baby and older swings as well as a seesaw and wobbly chair. There are benches on the side and bike racks to hold children’s bikes upright. A gate around the park stops younger children from running away! 🚲

There are many picnic benches on the field outside the park and space to play football or other ball games. ⚽

From here you can walk easily to Tesco Martins Heron for a babychino at Costa. Thanks to our Rocks Tribe for sharing this super spot. ☕ Please note these photos are from last year.

⭐ NEW Play Park - Bucklers Park Playground (swipe to see the photos!) ⭐

This play area runs alongside the new development Bucklers Park in Crowthorne. It is in a stunning location with Bucklers Forest surrounding it and the play area is very cool. I would say probably suited more to slightly older kids. ⬇️

Lots of benches to sit and have a picnic with a lovely view, there is water in this area so do watch little ones. The play area is full of great climbing equipment and one of the best things I thought was the dual zip line so you can race against friends., parents or siblings. 🥪

There is not a carpark attached to the park so it is best to park at the Bucklers car park and make the short walk to the park, alternatively you could park at Pinewood and walk over. There is also another park currently being built nearer the carpark and we will check this out once it is open. 🚗
