🦋 'Now Varley! The Bugs!' 🦋

For the Butterfly Ball at the conclusion of Bridgerton Season 3, our team was responsible for creating an entirely CG glass ceiling and an array of CG butterflies.

The team collected numerous references of butterflies in flight, landing, and their delicate movements. As well as dedicating significant effort to not only design the butterflies but also animate them in sync with the actors' eye movements.

👏 👏 We wanted to say congrats & well done to the entire Outpost team who helped bring Avatar: The Last Airbender to life!

Our team's impressive VFX work for this series included developing intricate FX bringing to life 3 out of the 4 elements; earthbending, airbending and waterbending. As well as building and partially destroying the arena environment, and supporting the stunt work through additional FX work.

👉 SWIPE through a collection of stills highlighting our team's VFX for Knuckles!

Outpost's major work on Knuckles involved creating bespoke character animation and red energy effects for fight scenes. Our animation team, led by Animation Supervisor Oliver Dale, helped develop Knuckles' unique facial expressions and movements, staying true to the character while adding new and exciting elements.

Studio representatives gathered yesterday at Société des arts technologiques [SAT], raising the alarm to Francois Legault’s government that Quebec’s VFX industry is under imminent threat from changes to the tax incentive.

Urgent action is needed, Prime Minister Legault. Postpone the change to the tax incentive and let us propose alternate solutions that will protect the future of the industry in Quebec and the 8,000 jobs at stake.

The survival of the VFX industry in Québec is at risk because of cuts to tax incentives made by Prime Minister Legault’s government which come into effect May 31st.

We are calling on the government to rethink this plan and instead act in the interest of the 8,000 people in Quebec that make up the VFX and animation industries, and the millions of people throughout the province that rely on them to deliver the films and series they love while generating significant revenue for the Quebec economy.

The Quebec government has announced a drastic reduction to the tax credit applied to VFX and Animation, putting Quebec's position as a VFX region of excellence under threat.
